The fruit of the love of a female yak and a bull was called Prikol. An unusual animal - the so-called "ostensible" - appeared at the Center for Veterinary Clinical Medicine at the Volgograd State Agricultural Academy
“It's just incredible how a nine-year-old female yak named Natalya let the two-year-old bull Murzik come to her,” says Professor Alexander Shinkarenko.
- For us, her pregnancy was a complete surprise. One of our employees accidentally saw the first signs of labor in a female. Childbirth was rather difficult.
- The baby turned out to be large, and the birth canal of the yak is intended for a small fetus, - says Alexander Shinkarenko, Doctor of Veterinary Sciences. - To save the baby, we had to resort to prompt obstetrics. The entire staff shouted "Hurray!" When the born heifer began to breathe. Now he feels normal and his life is not in danger.
