More than once authors of works of art in the style of science fiction have rewarded their heroes with the ability to instantly move in space and, probably, everyone would like to acquire such a skill or technical means to make such travel a reality. And what is the opinion of official science on this matter? Is teleportation possible in reality?
There are two views of teleportation among scientists. The first is the splitting of a person (and in this case, we are talking about teleportation of people, and not quanta, photons or other elementary particles, which, by the way, physicists have already learned to nonlinearly move in space) into its constituent atoms and the subsequent instant assembly "according to sample "already in a completely different place. It is worth noting that this approach is fraught with many risks at each stage, so there is no guarantee that, for example, the “final” assembly will fully correspond to the original - as a result, you may lose individual body parts or lose your personality (loss of memory, skills, etc. cognitive abilities).
The second approach is the most realistic and seems to be quite safe. It is based on using the capabilities of four-dimensional space. In order not to go deep into the scientific jungle, we will try to explain the technology with a simple example. Imagine that you take a piece of paper and draw two dots on it. To connect these two points, you just need to fold a piece of paper. In a similar way, by bending four-dimensional space, scientists intend to carry out instantaneous movements from one point of three-dimensional space to another in the future. Let's hope they succeed.
