Robert and Nicola Ingram made a sketch of a fearsome beast, which they claim to have seen in early April at 1 a.m. by the road that runs through Crum Court Landscape Park, Worcestershire, Cotswolds.

Eyewitnesses believe that they encountered a representative of the feline family, most likely with a black panther. However, the creature they depicted has already been nicknamed the "Worcester Werewolf" because of its characteristic features.

The beast had protruding, sharp teeth and sharp cheekbones. The drawing gives the impression that the creature was standing straight, like a man, and did not fall to the ground like a cat.

According to the couple, the animal was supposed to weigh about nine stones (57.1 kg), and the height of its withers was level with the window of their car, which - the Ingram are convinced of this - the big cat was about to pounce before they rushed away.

Robert sketched the drawing in the hope that zoologists could determine what kind of animal it was. He told The Mail reporters: “It was scary. He looked like he was on steroids.

There are open fields all around the road on which we were driving, but suddenly I noticed something on the road ahead of us. It was already dark and I saw the eyes reflecting the headlights.

We stopped the car, and he just stood there motionless.

We heard rumors that an escaped panther was wandering around here, but did not attach any importance to this. Seeing this animal with my own eyes, I was simply stunned. It was huge, much larger than a fox or a dog. It must have weighed about 9 stones - about the same as a skinny man.

Looking straight at us, he walked to the car. And then he ducked to the ground, as if about to attack.

Then we backed up and drove as far as possible.

I was so scared, I barely fumbled for my phone to take a picture, but by this point we had already driven quite far. And I would never return to this beast again to take a good photo. He was terrifying."

The Ingram think the animal has escaped from a private zoo. In recent years, dozens of complaints have been received from Worcestershire about collisions with escaped big cats.

A spokesman for the Worcestershire branch of Wildlife Trusts commented to The Mail: “Of course, there is always the possibility that a panther, or some other big cat, is roaming the countryside, but it still hasn't. no conclusive evidence has been presented."
