18-year-old Nurzhan Urkeshbaev was diagnosed with progeria at the age of five, which means premature aging of the skin. In the world, there are only 80 cases of progeria. Nurzhan is the only patient in Kazakhstan with such a diagnosis
According to the results of a preliminary examination on the eve of the operation, Nurzhan's health condition was assessed as satisfactory and there were no deviations that would be a contraindication to plastic surgery.
The operation took place in three stages: facelift, neck and forehead lift, upper and lower eyelid lift, laser and contour plastic. The first two stages have been completed, the third stage is next.
Nurzhan himself positively assesses the results of the operation and says that he agrees to the next stage.
- In two months, I will come to Almaty again to continue treatment, I really miss my native village, relatives and friends, I want to see them as soon as possible. In general, I am satisfied and do not regret that I agreed to the operation,”Nurzhan said at a specially convened press conference.

In March 2012, the specialists of the Nissamed clinic plan to conduct an additional examination of Nurzhan to determine the further course of treatment. During this period, doctors expect to see the final result after surgery, since the complete healing of tissues and scars takes, according to them, from several months to one year.
According to the doctor Bolat Bairov, who operated on Nurzhan, the next stage of treatment will not require a surgical intervention.
- Now Nurzhan has a rehabilitation period, you can continue treatment on an outpatient basis, already at home. At the next stage of treatment, which is planned in March, will be applied contour plastics, laser resurfacing to smooth out wrinkles and other restorative measures, Bolat Bairov said.
According to the general director of the Nissamed clinic, Gaukhar Zhanseitova, as a result of two stages, surgical operations were performed in the amount of one million 200 thousand tenge, the rest of the expenses were taken by the state enterprise "Treatment and Diagnostic Center", which belongs to the health department of the city of Almaty.
