Experts of the reputable Trend Club, who call themselves trendsetters, that is, people who predict trends, presented seven of the most promising, from their point of view, projects for the development of the Earth and the nearest space

City-skyscraper

Colossal pyramid Mega-City, in fact, will become one huge city-skyscraper, under whose glass domes up to a million people can live. Built on a frame made of strong and lightweight materials (presumably carbon fiber), the pyramid should reach a height of 2 km with a base area of 8 sq. km. And inside you will find everything that is usually found in a large city - from residential areas to a business center and parks. All necessary communications - from plumbing to communications - will be hidden inside the hollow tubes of the frame. The transparent "shell" of the metropolis-pyramid will allow sunlight to reach even areas in its very depths.

Hotel in space

Space hotel in low Earth orbit. Among the entertainment that guests of its 64 rooms can enjoy are outdoor games in low gravity conditions and, of course, stunning views of the Earth and the starry sky. All premises, including 40 rooms for service personnel, will be located along a circular structure with a diameter of 140 m. The docking area with spacecraft arriving from Earth is separated from it by a 240-meter elevator shaft. Rotating, the structure will create an artificial gravity of 0.8 Earth. It is assumed that the hotel will be powered entirely by solar panels.

Desert Oasis

The “Aqua-Net” is the creation of artificial, canalized lakes in deserts at sea level. It is proposed to fill them directly with the salt water of the World Ocean.

The lakes themselves should be located 150 km from each other, have a diameter of 30 km at a 30-meter depth. Such a network will significantly increase humidity and reduce the temperature of the entire surrounding area, creating more comfortable living conditions. Algae and all kinds of seafood can be cultivated in the lakes.

Offices underground

"Geo-grid" for megacities (Geo-Grid) like Moscow, New York or Tokyo - the cities are extremely densely populated. The engineers propose to move shops, offices, shopping centers, hotels, railway stations, "people's garages" and intercepting parking lots underground. And use the vacant space for gardens and flower beds.

Floating metropolis

Another futuristic plan - the construction of cities floating on the surface of the Pacific Ocean, in warm latitudes (Green Float), like colossal water lily leaves with the "flowers" of the main towers rising above them. Their height is a kilometer. At the base of each should be located agricultural enterprises and office premises for 10 thousand workers. And in the upper part of the tower there are residential "quarters" for 30 thousand inhabitants. Agricultural production is expected to be particularly profitable in sunny areas. Another 10 thousand people will be able to settle in the "suburb" - on the shores of such a floating metropolis covered with greenery.

Lunar base

On the Moon, for lovers of more exotic recreation, it is proposed to open a permanent habitable base. An interesting approach in this proposal: the base can be assembled on site from unified hexagonal blocks, which, if necessary, can be docked with each other both in the horizontal and in the vertical plane. And the blocks themselves are made of concrete, which can also be obtained directly on the moon.

The

Luna Ring solar power plant will transform our satellite into one incredible solar power plant. A ring of solar panels will encircle the Moon along the equator (thus, its length should be 11 thousand km) with a ribbon several kilometers wide. Solar energy will be converted into electricity and sent through a cable to the "transmission centers" located on the side of the moon constantly facing us. From here, it will travel to Earth in the form of microwaves through a powerful laser beam. And already at ground receiving stations it will either be captured by antennas and converted into electricity, or used to obtain hydrogen fuel.

According to the calculations of the engineers of the Japanese construction company Shimizu, such a station will cover all the energy needs of mankind in the near future.

LOOKING FROM THE 6th FLOOR

They are wonderful, these futurists

I caught sight of the magazines "Knowledge - Sila" 60 years ago.

And there - projects that are not much different from the current - modern. The same beautiful. But just as fantastic. And not because they are completely unrealizable. It's just that then they had nothing to do with real life and now they do not have. Futurists seemed to have conspired to drive people to exotic places. And persistently go to their goal. And people are resisting. And I would wait for now to get into the underground offices.
