Psychologists from the United States of America analyzed the indicators of one and a half million people and developed a new personality typology, within which they proposed four basic personality types.

People, according to psychologists from the USA, are divided into “ordinary”, “closed”, “egocentric” and representatives of “role models”. The material on the new personality typology appeared on the pages of the thematic publication Nature Human Behavior.

“The new typology was created on the basis of the so-called 'big five' - this is how we call the key personality characteristics. These are, in particular, benevolence, extraversion, neuroticism, consciousness and openness to experience,”says Luis Nunis Amaral from Northwestern University.

The normal personality type, according to Amaral, is characterized by pronounced neuroticism and extraversion, but the openness to new experience in such people is at a low level. Carriers of a closed personality type have low neuroticism and openness, and their indicators of goodwill and consciousness are at an average level. Egocentric people have heightened extraversion to the detriment of everything else, and representatives of role models have high rates throughout the "Big Five", except for neuroticism.
