Wu Zimiao, a 16,504-month-old baby born in Hebei, China, suffers from a condition called giant congenital nevus. A nevus is manifested by the appearance on the skin (and sometimes on mucous membranes) of spots or tumor-like formations with varying degrees of pigmentation. The formation consists of special cells, which are usually called nevus.
All people (or almost all) have moles on the skin, but with a nevus, these moles can be huge and cover a large surface of the body. In addition, with age, they can grow and grow like tumors.
The girl's parents work on a farm and cannot afford a 500,000 yuan (about $ 76,500) operation to remove moles plus associated medical expenses.
One of the girl's hands is almost completely black due to a solid dark mole. Now it does not hurt the baby, but there is a great risk that it will cause skin cancer in the future. A mole already affects the growth and development of a limb, the affected hand is thinner than the other - a healthy hand.
The doctors told the girl's father that the sooner she receives medical attention, the lower the risk of complications and the less likely that moles will develop into malignant tumors. Therefore, in search of money, the father and mother turned to charities. So far, only 10,000 yuan have been raised, but the family hopes that the required amount will be raised soon.
