The spirits of the dead get in touch
Contact with the spirits of the dead is not always traumatic. Of course, in horror films and in many stories, people are inspired with the idea that spirits are usually evil, but some claim that this is not so. There is evidence that the spirits of deceased people are able to enter the bodies of others and through them create works of art (for example, music and literary works), and sometimes they also perform surgical operations.
Of course, such facts cannot be scientifically proven. Skeptics are trying to understand: could it be that a deceased person was able to write novels, poems, scientific works and theatrical works? And they assume that all this is falsification, the authors of everything are living people, claiming fame.
Automatic writing: traces from the beyond
The phenomenon of automatic writing consists in the fact that a medium writes under the dictation of a certain spirit from the outside, and a pencil or pen itself moves on a piece of paper. These writers claim that they receive inspiration from the spirit, that in reality it is not they who write, but the spirit of the deceased, using their body to bring their works to this world. Probably the most significant and prolific psychic writer in the world, a Brazilian who writes in Portuguese, his name is Chico Xavier, his work is sometimes striking in erudition and technical knowledge. He became one of the most popular people in Rio de Janeiro, where he devoted his life to writing many bestsellers and helping the poor.
Refuting the criticism of the most stubborn skeptics, he does not take any royalties for the books written by him and does not ascribe authorship to himself, because, according to him, he is not writing them: already dead Brazilian authors are engaged in this.
Among "his" most famous books is a collection of poetry called "Parnassus from the Underworld", which contains 259 poems written in different styles and signed by 56 names of literary figures of the world who wrote in Portuguese during their lifetime.

However, what evidence can there be that this is not a hoax? In fact, it cannot be proven that Chico Xavier's automatic writing is not a deception, knowingly or unknowingly. Xavier studied in elementary school, but the vocabulary of his works is difficult even for an educated person; he himself said that sometimes he did not understand a word. In addition, it is impossible to imagine that a conscious impostor would give up the millions of dollars that books could bring him over the years.
In addition, there are many eyewitnesses to Xavier's automatic writing: he often writes in public, each time for two or three hours, and anyone curious can be present at the same time. Witnesses note that Xavier writes that his hand is connected to an electric battery.
Dictation through the Ouija board
Some of these “automatic writers” claim that the spirit dictating to them “enters” in some way into their body, takes possession of their hand and makes them write something that a living writer cannot even always understand. However, there are other ways to communicate. Early 20th century housewife Pearl Curran from England came into contact with a spirit who, from 1913-1938, dictated to her many literary works through the Ouija board. As Mrs. Curran said, after the first "muttering" the spirit began to visit her Ouija board.
It was the spirit of a woman named Patience Worth. She dictated to Madame Curran, first through the Ouija board, and then through automatic writing, a huge number of works. Among them, a voluminous novel with the name "Burrow" stands out, to which British critics, knowing about its origin, reacted very favorably: it was studied by both researchers of the paranormal and academics. The archaic English language of the novel has been thoroughly studied by scholars, who have concluded that the writer has an amazing literary style.
And besides dictation, the spirit of Patiens told her about his earthly life: she lived in England in the 17th century, in a Quaker family, and often worked in the field. She later emigrated to America and soon after her arrival in the New World, she was killed by the Indians. However, then how can you explain that she wrote such incredible works? After all, Mrs. Curran herself is a poorly educated housewife, and Patiens Worth, the modest daughter of the Quakers, also could not receive a proper education. Some spiritualists believe that she may have received a "posthumous education."
Conversation with writers from the beyond
Some of the mediums can hold conversations with deceased writers or facilitate their conversation with other living people.
This is exactly the case with the medium Hester Dowden, who wrote numerous works during her life under dictation while blindfolded. But in 1947 she did something more. The writer Percy Allen was invited to participate in the seance, during which his medium gave him the opportunity to have a written "conversation" with the deceased playwrights.
Ms. Dowden, in a trance, entered into a conversation with the spirits of the writers, and they told her that the collections of literary works, which the world knows as the works of Shakespeare, were a collective creation. With their words, William Shakespeare and Edward de Vere did the bulk of the work, while Beaumont and Fletcher, secondary playwrights, provided additional material at times. Francis Bacon acted as something of a style corrector. As Mrs. Dowden said, Shakespeare himself said: “I knew very well that the script would be a success, I found a topic, discussed it with de Vere, so the foundation of the work was formed. Then he decorated this foundation."
How much of this woman's testimony can you believe? This is the question many people familiar with this topic ask themselves. And that's not it. If we are to believe what she says, we will have to admit that our knowledge of literary history has little to do with reality. Opponents of this hypothesis and of mediums in general point out that automatic writing is nothing more than a dramatization of deep or suppressed creative abilities, which finds its expression in means little known to us.
How to become a dictation writer
In theory, everyone can become part of the automatic writing phenomenon. You can conduct such an experiment: lean a pen against a white sheet of paper, be sure to take attention away from the hand and give it the opportunity to move the way it wants. Beginners need a lot of patience because it can take a long time before the pencil begins to move, apparently by itself. Someone never succeeds in anything other than meaningless scribbles or letters, but others get coherent, intelligent and clearly meaningful messages, to the extent that sometimes they write what is transmitted to them in a language other than their own.
Great authors: the best inspirations
Many writers and artists have been listening to their muses for centuries. For example, they say that Charles Dickens often dozed in his chair, and then characters appeared in front of him, who "seemed to beg him to describe them." Mary Shelley also dreamed of her Frankenstein, and Robert Louis Stevenson trusted his dreams to invent stories, including the allegory of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. But when a writer of the level of Charles Dickens says that the story was "written by himself," we can only assume that he did not want to admit that his pen itself moved on paper: in practice, inspiration is set in motion by mechanisms very different from those that "move" automatic writing.
Surgeons from the other world
There are amazing medical cases. Most likely, this will seem incredible, but there is evidence confirming that the deceased doctor has entered the body of another person for several years now and has been treating patients.
Here is the case of a famous ophthalmic surgeon who died in 1937. His name was William Lang. This doctor, according to the medium George Chapman, did not stop practicing medicine. Although he died, it is possible to get a consultation at the Aylesbury clinic (in Buckinghamshire, England). Of course it sounds incredible, doesn't it? It turns out that in 1946, almost 10 years after his death, Dr. Lang resumed his work through the British medium George Chapman and the union of both turned into one of the most curious cases of medium activity.
The medium and the already deceased doctor "met" under sad circumstances: Chapman lost his little daughter a month after her birth, in 1945. He was obsessed with the idea of finding out if there was life after death, and so one of his colleagues invited him to a seance, where he received a "message" that indicated to him that he was already chosen to become a healer. This task was not specified until Dr. Lang began to "appear" during these sessions.
The “treatment procedure,” according to his story, is as follows: “During the session, I must first enter a trance state. Then Dr. Lang, or rather his spirit, enters my body. After which he operates the "etheric body". " Chapman believes Dr. Lang is using surgical instruments, although they all remain invisible.
Lang's family members and many of his medical colleagues attended Chapman's sessions, during which they spoke to the late surgeon; they all confirmed his identity. In addition, people who personally know George Chapman and through him talked to Dr. Lang noted that there is a huge difference between the tone of voice, vocabulary and verbal tics of real Chapman and Chapman controlled by Lang.
Those who do not believe in the reality of such a connection, note that there have been cases with some people who, intentionally or in a state of hypnosis, very convincingly represented other people. In fact, there are certain types of mental instability known to modern psychiatry that allow another personality to surface. The only thing that should be noted in this case is that Chapman is either an incomparable actor who can deceive even those who knew Lang intimately, or the late surgeon actually takes over his body and operates through it.
Considering all that has been said, it is possible to draw conclusions: the most important thing is not the sessions of the medium by themselves, during which surgical operations are performed, but their result. Judging by the number of people who took part in these sessions, and the results they claim they received, Dr. Lang's practice is real. Indeed, his "patients" claim that he was able to cure many different ailments, especially those that could not be cured with traditional medicine.
In line with the latest trends, Chapman can be said to be a healer in a trance state, through which Dr. Lang performs what he himself has chosen to call "operations of the spirit." Dr. Lang operates, as he himself explains, on the body of the spirit - the invisible essence of every human life that reflects ill health in the physical body - and through it influences the physical body.
The stories of patients about "operations of the spirit" are simply terrifying. Morton B. Jackson, a Los Angeles attorney, treated Dr. Lageg for the rheumatic disease that plagued him for ten years. “He asked me to sit down, straighten up and in this position lean forward slightly. Then he began to apply his fingers to different points above and below on my spinal column. I felt the touch of instruments, although I have not seen one with my own eyes. This time, there was no quick miraculous cure, but the help was substantial.
However, some cases can be regarded as miraculous. For example, the case of Joseph Tansch, who was operated on in 1974 to study a brain tumor. Was diagnosed with a malignant tumor. After three operations at Dr. Lang's for several months, the tumor gradually subsided and subsequent medical tests confirmed that it completely disappeared.
