This natural talent, as parapsychologists believe, has been preserved in a rudimentary form in all modern people. But even 25 years ago we practically did not hear anything about them, as if there were no psychics at all. But this is not so, since time immemorial they have been exterminated, canonized or experimented with, keeping everything in the strictest confidence.

In the era of polytheism, when people believed in several gods, in every city there was a shaman, sorcerer, oracle (there are many names, but the essence is the same - a person who has the ability to contact forces that represent the other side of reality). They were revered, worshiped, their advice was adhered to without question - the ancient psychics did not contradict the religious beliefs of people.
Monotheism has replaced polytheism. Naturally, the new religious concept did not recognize competitors. If the abilities of Cagliostro were questioned even by his contemporaries, then they still believe in the gift of Nostradamus, whose predictions extend right up to 3797. When the Inquisition found out that a young medical student had written a dying boy a recipe for a miraculous potion that put him on his feet in a matter of days, Nostradamus was suspected of devilry. At night, the inquisitor visited the healer, seeing whom, Nostradamus said: “I see a red glow in your chest. Your Last Judgment will take place in seven days. A contemporary of Nostradamus, whom the villagers called simply Mother Shipton, did not gain world fame, apparently, having faded in the shadow of his glory. However, she was not a bastard either. A simple village woman who lived in the 16th century prophesied the following: “The thoughts of people will fly around the world faster than an eyelid will blink … Proud people will pass through the high hills. The carriage will run without horses; people will walk under water, they will ride, and sleep, and talk."
From early childhood, Mother Shipton was not like everyone else. Furniture was constantly moving in the house, and once the adoptive mother found a cradle with a baby in … a fireplace. The mother did not even hope to marry her daughter: no one needed a girl with a crooked nose, a twisted body and huge bulging eyes. Nevertheless, a neighbor's carpenter soon married her. As they used to say in the village, it was not without a love spell. Soon Mother Shipton began to predict the future for all the inhabitants of the village, and when word of her spread, even for visiting noble persons. She predicted death by a knife to the city mayor, ascension to the throne and celibacy for Elizabeth I, plague throughout London.
