In addition, the XR-1 robot from the Chinese company INNFOS can pour drinks, hold a raw egg without breaking it, copy human gestures, and even dance.

Many global technology leaders gathered in Barcelona this week for Mobile World Congress 2019 (MWC). At the event, LG, Sony and ZTE presented their new products, and Huawei showed off its first phone with a folding screen. However, smartphones were not the only show at MWC.

The Chinese company INNFOS has unveiled the XR-1, an amazingly agile robot with many impressive capabilities. So, he knows how to dance, thread a needle, carefully pour a drink into a glass and hold a raw egg without breaking it. The robot has very flexible arms and smooth movements, which allows it to copy many human gestures, water plants, pick up many different objects, and even dance. It moves with the help of three sturdy wheels installed instead of legs.

According to the published press release, the XR-1 can do all of the above thanks to its unique actuators. If humanity is to build a future in which humanoid robots become an integral part of everyday life, developers will need actuators that provide precise movement, can withstand impact, and comply with safety regulations. INNFOS claims that their independently developed Smart Compliant Actuator (SCA) system meets all of these standards.

In order for such intelligent service robots to be widely used in enterprises, healthcare institutions, homes, and so on, it is necessary to ensure safe and intelligent human-machine interaction. Thus, service robots must include appropriate controls, be shock-resistant, while maintaining functionality and high accuracy.

The SCA incorporates a basic servo drive, a high-precision encoder, a powerful brushless motor and a lightweight gearbox, which became the basis for the XR-1 intelligent service robot. The most important characteristic of the SCA is considered to be its built-in interoperable connections, which can provide both high-precision and dynamic movements while maintaining a high level of safety. It is not yet known if SCA will be the “next trend in robotic technology in the future,” as INNFOS says in its press release, but the XR-1 is already capable of performing some of the smoothest and most realistic movements we've ever seen. robot.
