German scientists have created a robot that can handle hands and recognize objects. Moreover, artificial intelligence can recognize them without prior acquaintance, reports Phys. Org.
The robot recognizes pieces of fruit, toys, tools, takes them so as not to crush or drop. He distinguishes objects by shape, rigidity, examines objects independently. A cognitive psychologist works with robotics for this.
As a basis, actions were taken to study objects by touch. They did it without looking. Scientists collected information on how people do it, what mistakes they make. After that, we “trained” the robot, telling it with words and gestures which object to choose and what actions to perform with it. And artificial intelligence copied the movements of the scientists themselves and memorized them.
The result of further experiments in this area may be the creation of robots for working in production, as well as for helping around the house, which will be able to independently obtain data about the surrounding objects and adapt to work in new families.
