American scientists explained the frequent tremors in the southeastern regions of the United States of America by the separation of the earth's crust from the mantle located below it. The destructive geological process, however, is extremely stretched in time and will become a real problem only in the distant future, but for now there is no need to worry, scientists say.

The reason for the study, in which the fact of the separation of the crust of the North American continent from the Earth's mantle was discovered, was the barely perceptible earthquakes, which over the past few years have occurred in a series in the eastern regions of the United States. Scientists wondered why the east of the country, located on a stable tectonic plate, is subject to tremors, because this should not be the case in principle.

The staff of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, under the leadership of Professor Burke Biriol, learned the terrible truth - the processes taking place under the North American continent indicate that it literally broke down.

“But don't panic. Geological processes are not very fast, so we, our children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren - absolutely nothing threatens,”says Professor Biriol.
