According to a recent study by scientists from the United States, the results of which were published in the information publication The Independent, a 10-minute cancer test soon appeared in the world, giving almost one hundred percent results.

Scientists, according to the forecasts of the developers of the test, by the end of this decade, will be able to diagnose the fatal disease with just one drop of saliva, better known as "liquid biopsy". This analysis is based on the identification of circulating DNA fragments of cancer cells in human blood. These fragments usually form even before the symptoms of this fatal disease develop.

According to a preliminary estimate of American experts from the University of California, the cost of such a cancer test will be about 15 pounds (about 2 thousand rubles at the current exchange rate). It is worth noting that today the results of blood tests done in order to find out their diagnosis, whether a person has cancer, need to wait about two weeks, or even more. As noted by experts in this field, clinical trials in this branch of medicine served to accelerate the development of a new saliva test for cancer.

According to the head of this study, Professor David Wong, specialists will be able to analyze the cancer test made in the shortest possible time, while the patient waits outside the laboratory door. This requires only one drop of human saliva. The new test may also contain a "key" for early detection of some rare cancers, such as the pancreas, which currently lacks an effective early diagnosis, Wong said.
