Within the city of Fukuoka, during the excavations of the Nakashima site, Hakata region, a bronze mirror was discovered, which was made in China about two thousand years ago. The ancient Japanese state "Na" previously existed on this territory, information about which has been preserved exclusively in Chinese chronicles.
Back in 57, representatives of the state "Na" arrived at the imperial palace of the Chinese ruler Guan Wu-di, where they were awarded the title of "Wang" and a seal of gold. It was discovered in 1784 and is currently included in the honorary list of "National Treasures of Japan".
The artifact found in Fukuoka is a bronze mirror 11.3 centimeters in diameter. The drawing made on it says that it belongs to a group that archaeologists refer to as "a mirror with connected arcs." The approximate date of its manufacture in China is 30 - 200 AD.
The recording made on the mirror is translated as follows: for the benefit of future generations.
It was found at a depth of two meters, and numerous fragments of pottery were also found there.

Such a find is not uncommon for modern Japanese archaeologists, since mirrors were actively delivered to Japan from China and were very popular among the nobles. Only now, almost all finds are covered with a thick layer of patina. And the peculiarity of this find is that it is beautifully preserved. Even now, you can see your own reflection in it.
This preservation can only be explained by the fact that it lay in soil with a high moisture content, and it prevented degradation processes. Now this wonderful find can be seen in the local museum.
