According to the Secretary General, the main "rider" is the highest geostrategic tension, which can lead to serious military conflicts with dire consequences and an increase in the nuclear threat.
The second serious threat Guterres pointed to climate change, as due to the rapidly advancing global warming, millions of plant and animal species were threatened with extinction.
The third rider is the growing distrust of government - across the world, income inequality and disenfranchisement are rising, causing more and more people to question the effectiveness of globalization.
Modern digital technologies, according to the Secretary General, have become the fourth "horseman".
