In Egypt, a high-speed overpass was built, which should connect two local ring roads, point-blank to a residential building. On one of the streets, the highway overpass passed literally half a meter from the existing building, and at the level of the sixth floor.

The high-speed overpass, 12.5 kilometers long and worth $ 317 million, should connect two local ring highways and serve the sacred cause of unloading city traffic. The problem is that in one of its sections, this route runs as close as possible to residential multi-storey buildings, Arab News reports. So close that their residents can touch the flyover with their hand from their own window.
Mahmoud Nassar, head of Egypt's Central Building Agency, said the project is critical and will only benefit the area. At the same time, the official claims that there is no mistake in this location of the object. Such a distance to high-rise buildings exists only because they were built illegally on areas where buildings simply should not have been. Local residents are outraged, they, in turn, assure that they have all the necessary permits for houses, and demand fair compensation in the event of the demolition of their property.
Most likely, it will not be possible without dismantling the buildings, because thousands of cars will rush close to the fifth or sixth floor of houses, and the apartments below and the shops located on the first level will end up in a kind of tunnel.
