The existence of parallel worlds next to us is only assumed by modern scientists. And our ancestors, apparently, knew about them many centuries ago
A prominent religious figure of the 15th century, the founder of Lutheranism, Martin Luther, wrote about the revelation given to him from above, in which it was said. "The attack fell on the ground, terrible demonic creatures disturb people, force them to intercourse and steal human seeds in order to prolong their demonic kind."
Medieval descriptions of encounters with "demons" sometimes coincide to the smallest detail with modern accounts of alien abductions. Today, numerous abduction victims also claim that they had sexual contacts with "mysterious creatures."
In January 1606, the trial of Françoise Bose took place in Basel. She was accused of having ties to the demon who bewitched her husband. Françoise, on the other hand, claimed that the demon appeared in her bedroom "just out of nowhere" and paralyzed her husband, who after that "slept a deep sleep all night." According to the defendant, she did not remember what exactly happened between her and the demon.
Modern "victims of demons" also speak of the "paralysis" of the surrounding people at the time of the abduction. After the disappearance of the mysterious intruders, who then sleep for a long time cannot be woken up. And the victims themselves often do not remember what happened and remember the details only under hypnosis.
In Scotland, one of the historical documents preserved the story of a certain housewife about a "mysterious elf" who magically found himself in the pantry of her house, where she was with her husband. Seeing the elf, the frightened hostess began to call her husband, but suddenly noticed that he was lying motionless on the bags of flour. In Germany, at the end of the 15th century, an emergency occurred. The burgomaster's niece Elsa Farthen is missing. The girl disappeared from her bedroom at night. No one saw or heard anything unusual, only one of the maids noticed a bright light from under her mistress's door in the middle of the night. But she did not attach any importance to this. The next morning it turned out that the door to the bedroom was locked from the inside, and when it was broken, there was no one in the bedroom! There was a commotion. Elsa's servants and relatives searched everything around. But the girl was nowhere to be found. Elsa Farthen was absent for two days, and on the third, unexpectedly and unnoticed by everyone, she found herself at home, in her bedroom. In Irish folklore, a legend has been preserved, according to which once in a small village "the unfortunate Irgen surrendered herself to a demon." Although the poor girl claimed that she could not resist, as she was bewitched and therefore did not call for help, she was nevertheless sentenced to death and drowned in the river.

European folklore also contains numerous accounts of the abduction of children by mysterious creatures. For example, it tells how a young woman, waking up at night, was horrified to find that a small man with a huge head and "devilish" eyes was standing by her bed. He tried to take her baby, who slept next to her. The woman screamed, and the dwarf immediately "evaporated".
Another notable event took place in Lower Saxony. Legends have brought to us the story of a woman who was also visited by mysterious creatures at night. Frau Eichen had not yet gone to bed when she saw an unusually bright light flashing outside the window. After a few moments it seemed to her that someone was in the room. Frau jumped out of bed and lit a candle. At the cradle of her son, the woman saw a gray dwarf with a big head! She screamed and rushed to the dwarf, but he just disappeared into thin air. Although most of the medieval legends about meetings of people with demons concern women, the male part of the population of the mysterious creatures also did not bypass their attention. The testimony of one priest has survived, who claimed that he was subjected to a terrible temptation by a demon who came to his house in the middle of the night. The demon appeared right in the middle of the room in a fireball and tried to seduce the priest by offering him beautiful witches. Swedish peasant Olaf Utlein was kidnapped in broad daylight by "two demons". On a fine spring day, he grazed a flock of sheep near the village. Having decided to rest a little, the guy lay down on the ground and fell asleep. Opening his eyes, Olaf saw next to him a demon "with a large head and a gray cloak." The demon took the peasant by the hand, lifted him high above the earth and "showed him the stars and the creatures of heaven, as well as a multitude of spirits, restless between earth and sky." Until now, we can only guess why strange creatures from another world appear to people. Only one thing is obvious: our predecessors, like modern people, often came into contact with an unknown and mysterious world, the nature of which is still incomprehensible to people.
