In Israel, archaeologists have been excavating for years in the city of Tell es Safi. This place is considered the likely location of the biblical city of Ghat, from which the famous Goliath came.

Researchers say they have discovered the ruins of a giant city from the 9th and 10th centuries BC, and it could be Ghat.

According to the Jerusalem Post, excavations have proven that the ancient city of Ghat was indeed found, in which the legendary biblical giant Goliath is believed to have been born, who fought with David. Goliath was a Philistine warrior. Ghat, along with Gaza, Ashkelon, Ashdod and Ekron, was one of the five cities of the Philistines who perished in 830 BC. conquered by the army of the Aramaic king Azael.

New research has shown that the city of Ghat likely existed much earlier than previously thought. It has been confirmed that buildings were there as early as the 11th century BC, that is, during the time of Goliath. Excavations show that Ghat was a much larger center during Goliath's time than in later periods of its history. Archaeologists also pay attention to the unusual architecture. In their opinion, the buildings were monumental and very massive, and huge boulders were used as building materials.

This discovery is consistent with the biblical stories of giants like Goliath. However, according to the official version of history, no one has previously found archaeological evidence for the existence of giants. Also, during the excavations, no skeletons were found that could be called gigantic.

According to scholars, the descendants of the Israelites and Philistines tried to explain the gigantic scale of the city of Ghat, assuming that it was inhabited by huge people.
