South Korean archaeologists during excavations of an ancient grave near the city of Gyeongju on the territory of the former Kingdom of Silla have discovered a female skull of a strange oblong shape. The skull is between 1000 and 2000 years old. Scientists cannot figure out why the organ has such a bizarre shape.
The researchers suggest that the skull was stretched not due to physical impact, but an unknown disease. Carbohydrate analysis showed that the woman ate exclusively plant foods and was a veterinarian. This may be due to the fact that the woman was Buddhist and refused animal food. Interestingly, DNA analysis showed that the ancestors of this person from the past still live on Earth.
According to the author of the study, Yong Ji Woo, the width of the skull is 80% of its length, and if earlier, when finding such fossils, scientists believed that the organ was subject to physical influence, now they are sure that people with such a head shape really lived on earth before.
