Who would have thought that ancient pyramids also exist on the territory of modern Armenia. For several years now, the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia has been conducting a number of studies on the territory of the villages of the Ararat valley.
Recently, archaeologists have discovered a very interesting structure, which is more than 4000 years old. What is noteworthy is that this thing is very similar to the pyramids that can be found in Egypt or Mexico. True, it is much smaller.
Every year more and more ancient artifacts are found on the territory of Armenia, some of which are of great scientific interest.
This pyramid was discovered near the village of Dvina. It was completely covered with earth and archaeologists had to dig it out. The results of radiocarbon analysis showed that it was built about 2-3 thousand years BC.
At that time, the state of Hayas existed here. This pyramid is much more like the pyramids in Mexico than the pyramids of Ancient Egypt.
Its height is very low - only 25 meters. If we compare the pyramid with modern structures, then in height it is about the same as a 9-storey panel house. Archaeologists had to remove this structure from under a very large layer of earth.

The results of the analyzes showed that the pyramid was covered with earth for several thousand years. Scientists have never been able to understand its purpose. Various versions are expressed, including one that this pyramid could serve as a shelter from enemies, and residents of nearby settlements could often hide in it.
But personally, it seems to me that the pyramid is not very suitable for shelter, because a lot of time, material and human resources were probably spent on its construction.
In general, the question of the purpose of the Armenian pyramid remains open. Recent finds more and more confirm the idea that there are many ancient artifacts on the lands of Armenia, which are of great interest to science.
Who knows what Armenian archaeologists will be able to discover in the future.
