During World War II, Kennedy was promoted to lieutenant and became captain of a torpedo boat, took part in the fighting in the Pacific Ocean. Made concessions during the Cuban Missile Crisis (October 1962), advocated racial desegregation, taking the Abraham Lincoln model, supported Martin Luther King, and met him in Washington in 1963. Made a decision to start the withdrawal of troops from Vietnam. Until now, President Kennedy is considered a model of American liberalism.
On August 28, 1963, the day before his meeting with the President, from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial during the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, Martin Luther King delivers a speech "I have a dream" in which he proclaimed his vision for a future where whites and blacks could coexist as equals … This was a critical moment in the American Civil Rights Movement 1955-1968.
John F. Kennedy was assassinated on November 22, 1963, at 12:30 pm local time, in Dallas, Texas; ACCORDING TO THE OFFICIAL VERSION, shots were heard while the presidential cortege was moving through the city streets. The first bullet hit the president in the back of the neck and exited the front of the throat, the second hit the head and caused the destruction of the skull bones in the back of the head, as well as damage to the brain substance. President Kennedy was taken to the operating room, where his death was pronounced half an hour after the assassination attempt. In addition, the governor of Texas, Connolly, who was traveling in the same car, was seriously injured, and one of the passers-by was also slightly injured.

Lee Harvey Oswald, arrested on suspicion of assassinating the president at the age of 17, enlisted in the Marine Corps as a junior to intermediate sniper marksman. During the service, he studied Russian, although even after living in the USSR and marrying a Russian he knew it poorly. He resigned 3 months before the due date. In 1959-1961 he lived in the Soviet Union, in Minsk. In Moscow, he announced his renunciation of American citizenship. In April 1961 he married a Soviet citizen Marina Prusakova and returned to Texas. In the spring of 1963, while in New Orleans, he had contacts with the anti-Castro group and at the same time publicly declared himself a Marxist. Then he returned to Dallas and got a job in a school textbook warehouse.
Oswald, who denied the charges against him, was shot and killed a few days later at the police station by Dallas resident Jack Ruby, who also later died in prison. No record of Oswald's interrogation has survived. The lawyer was not present.
The official report of the Warren Commission on the investigation into the Kennedy assassination was published in 1964; according to this report, the President's killer was Oswald, and all the shots were fired from the top floor of the building. In an ongoing investigative experiment, none of the FBI snipers was able to repeat this result. At the same time, it became known that the damaged brain of the US President, which was stored in the US National Archives … was gone.
According to the OFFICIAL version of the commission, Oswald fired 3 shots at the president from the Carcano M91 / 38 carbine (with a manual shutter) from the 6th floor of the book warehouse, while one of the bullets inflicted 2 wounds on the president and 2 on Governor Connolly. This explanation was later called "magic bullet"
Robert Kennedy was one of the two younger brothers of President John F. Kennedy. He entered the administration of his brother, holding the post of the Attorney General. As one of the most trusted people, he was a member of the Caribbean Crisis resolution team. After the death of his brother, he served for 9 months as US Attorney General under President Johnson. He resigned, expressing disagreement with the president's policy in September 1964, and in November of that year was elected to the Senate from New York State. Fought for equal rights for African Americans in the United States and ended the war.
In 1968 he ran for the presidency of the United States from the Democratic Party.
Shot dead on June 6, 1968, while giving a California primary victory speech.
2 months earlier, on March 29, 1968, Martin Luther King was fatally wounded by a sniper while standing on a balcony in Memphis Lorraine Motel. King, a Protestant priest, was recognized by the Catholic Church as a martyr who gave his life for the Christian faith.
John F. Kennedy had a close acquaintance with Norma Jean Baker, known throughout the world as Marilyn Monroe, and they had a love affair since 1954 and were close until 1960. According to Robert Slatzer, who claims that he was Nora's secret confidant, she kept a diary all this time, in which she recorded excerpts of conversations with John F. Kennedy. During conversations with friends, John discussed political issues or explained a particular government decision. Naturally, these conversations were not intended for the general public, but were an integral part of life. The diary could contain incriminating information both on the president and on the country's politics in general. Marilyn Monroe also met with John's brother, Robert Kennedy, as mentioned by her servant and photographer.
Marilyn Monroe died on 4 August 1962 in Brentwood, California at the age of 36 from a lethal dose of sleeping pills. The diary mysteriously disappeared after her death.
John F. Kennedy's son from his marriage to Jacqueline Kennedy (Onassis), John F. Kennedy Jr., died in a plane crash.
The widow of John F. Kennedy, Jacqueline Kennedy (Onassis), 5 years after his death, married the Greek billionaire Aristotle Socrates Onassis. The heir to 2/3 of his property was their daughter Christina, who was at one time married to a Russian and who died in 1988 under unclear circumstances.
