The concept of a cyborg appeared in the 60s of the XX century and literally means "cybernetic organism". It should be noted that not the same concepts are embedded in this concept. In particular, in biology and medicine, a cybernetic organism refers to biological organisms in which individual organs are replaced by artificial ones. Such replacements are no longer a fantasy: artificial limbs, a number of internal organs, and finally, artificial skin have already been successfully used. Cyborg also refers to android robots. However, to a greater extent we are talking about a person.
It's hard to believe, but the cyborgs of the future are being created today. A group was created in Moscow, which included scientists of various fields, as well as psychologists and futurologists. This team set itself the task of creating an artificial human by 2045, which would consist entirely of synthesized organs.
In fact, we are talking about an artificially created body, into which they hope to rewrite the contents of the brain of a particular person. However, a number of researchers have moral and ethical doubts. How, for example, would a creature created in this way react? How “human” will the cyborg of the future be, can he feel and experience? There is no doubt that science will find an opportunity to solve problems related to the physical body and its organs, but the soul is not subject to science. God puts the soul into the human body being born, but regarding the cyborg, here are some questions that are not at all idle.
Nevertheless, enthusiasts are not stopped by such reflections now. According to Boris Gavrilyuk, head of the laboratory of cell and tissue growth at the Institute of Theoretical and Experimental Biophysics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, there are already convincing results today, as can be seen from the example of artificial skin, which is a combination of natural and synthetic polymers. At the same time, the scientist notes, the skin is the final stage - first, you need to create internal organs, the brain. Scientists in various parts of the world have already managed to create many organs. So in Italy, an artificial hand was sewn to a young musician, capable not only of performing all the movements characteristic of a natural one, but also of feeling!
As for the Moscow cyborg of the future, at the first stage it is planned to create an avatar controlled by a remote person. Estimated dates are 2020. In another decade, according to scientists, an artificial brain will be created and avatars will be able to think. But by 2045, the authors of the group hope to learn how to "relocate" a person from a worn out old body into an avatar created for a specific person. This is the ultimate goal of the project, but what consequences this technology may have is impossible to predict now …
