Video hosting YouTube has released a new coronavirus video policy. Videos containing false information about COVID-19 will be blocked. This is reported on the video hosting support page.

The rules state that information that contradicts the data of the World Health Organization (WHO) or local authorities will be considered unreliable. Among the topics, the dissemination of inaccurate information about which can lead to blocking, were named treatment, prevention, diagnosis and methods of transmission of coronavirus.

For example, restrictions will affect videos that COVID-19 does not exist and people do not die from it, as well as calls for self-medication and the use of any prayers and rituals instead of going to the doctor. In addition, YouTube intends to block videos that talk about the existence of a vaccine or preventive measure against the virus.

Earlier in May, representatives of social networking site Twitter announced that the company will begin tagging tweets containing controversial or erroneous information about the coronavirus. In the event that a tweet contains information about a disease that can mislead a person, the social network will offer the user to go to other posts with reliable data about the virus.
