At all times, cats have been associated with witchcraft and the other world. They were said to be capable of crossing the border between the worlds. This may be the reason why cats often return to us in the form of ghosts.

Phantom assassin from Prague

In the fifteenth century, Prague suffered from the plague. A family with two children lived on Panskaya Street. For many years they were served by a servant who, despite this, felt hatred for the owners and wanted to take their money for himself.

All died of the plague, except for one of the children - a small boy. The servant also survived. He drew up a forged paper on which custody of the boy, the house and all means passed to him. It was also said that if the child dies, everything will go to the servant. Naturally, the boy did not have long to live. The guardian helped him drown in the river, and then said that the child was missing.

They looked for the boy, but they never found it. By the way, a huge black cat that lived in the house disappeared at the same time as the child.

The newly made owner of the mansion did not pay attention to such a trifle. But one night he went to bed in the bedroom of the former owners of the house and suddenly felt severe chest pain at night. When I woke up I saw a black cat sitting on it.

The furious animal hissed and began to claw at the old man. This began to repeat itself every night. No matter how hard he tried, the old man could not find the cat to destroy him.

Pretty frightened by night "visits", the former servant went to spend the night at the house of his acquaintances, but when he went to drink water at night, he heard meowing in the street. In the morning he was found dead, with his face literally torn by claws.

When, many years later, the mansion was demolished, a stuffed black cat was found in the attic. They say that you can still see the ghost of this faithful and vengeful animal on Panskaya Street at night.

Cheshire Cat

Cats often appear after death to their owners as ghosts. In the English city of Congleton, Cheshire, the story of the ghost of a white cat who lived with the caretaker of the abbey is known.

Once the cat went for a walk and was absent for a long time. When the hostess heard the scratching of claws on the door, she opened it and saw her cat, suddenly disappearing into the air. It is not known what happened to the animal, but its ghost has been often seen since that time walking near the abbey.
