This time it all happened in Florida, and Strickler, who covers in detail the current topic of meetings with the Chicago "Moth Man", is sure that the Chicago monster and the winged creature from Florida are links in the same chain. More precisely, manifestations of the same phenomenon that began to spread throughout the United States.
Strickler was written by a guy (Strickler only lists his initials as "AR") who had recently moved to Clearwater, Florida, for a new job. He was hired to lift cargo and his route consisted of four stopping points: from Clearwater to Port Richie, then Brooksville and Zephyrhills. Another guy worked with him at night on the shift, and it was he who met the strange creature two weeks ago.
It happened on the stretch of the Brooksville - Zephyrhills route. At about 3.30 at night the driver with a load was driving along this road and suddenly saw a strange dark object that seemed to him a living creature. It was suspended in the air, hovering about 15 feet (4.5 meters) next to a tree.
Having approached closer, the guy-driver was able to make out the creature. It was black and seemed to him humanoid (similar to a person), while it hung in the air, curled up into a ball.
“What the hell is this?” - barely had time to think the guy, before his eyes, the ball began to unfold.
The creature unfolded, stretching out long legs and long wings, and eventually became like a huge bat, while its legs were similar to human ones. Spreading its wings, the creature suddenly flew at high speed towards the driver's truck, who was watching him in fear all this time.
At that moment, according to the author, his replacement was so frightened that he almost flew into the ditch. The guy was almost paralyzed from fear, later he could not remember what head and face this creature had, although it flew right at him. According to him, he only remembered that it was about 5-6 feet high (1.5 - 1.8 meters), dark in color, with human legs and bat wings.

Later, he also recalled that about half a mile before he saw the creature, he noticed at least four dead deer lying on the side of the road. Now this guy thinks that this creature probably hunted these deer and killed them.
According to the narrator, his replacement can be called a quiet and intelligent guy, but judging by his story, he really saw something very scary.
When Lon Strickler read the letter with the story, he called the author of the letter at the number indicated in the letter and he told him a few more details. The driver described that the creature seemed to him like a gargoyle, but very skinny.
Compared to the monster from Chicago, the witness could not remember if this gargoyle had red eyes and did not even remember what color they were.
Instead, he pointed out that the creature had a wide wingspan of about 12 feet (3.6 meters). Also "A. R." mentioned that when the shift told him about the incident, he was very pale. However, he is still working on this route, although now he always carries a camera with him to film what he saw and looks very carefully around.
At the end, Lon Strickler mentions that this is the third recent meeting in Florida with unusual creatures, although he does not give details of these meetings.
