I specifically looked at the calendar to clarify. A couple of hours ago it was only January 6th. A little more than five days of the new year have passed.
And there are already so many events that would be enough for several months. And for some reason I'm sure it won't be any easier today.
It all started with the Turkish parliament giving permission for Erdogan to invade Libya. What was that? Which side is Turkey to Libya?
At least they have a common border with Syria, as well as some minimum agreements at the intergovernmental level. And Libya is generally located in another part of the Mediterranean Sea, not to mention that on another continent.
Again, on what basis? Turkey does not have any mandates from the UN for peacekeeping, and the "government of Libya", which turned to Turkey for help, came to power as a result of a coup, is self-styled and does not have even minimal legitimacy (there were no elections). In addition, this "government" does not control most of the country, but sits in the capital and trembles with fear at the approach of Haftar's troops.
