Canadian Granger Taylor lived in the town of Duncan. that on Vancouver Island, and since childhood was obsessed with mechanics and digging in all sorts of pieces of iron. At the age of 14, he dropped out of school to build an antique one-cylinder car from scratch, which is now in the local forest museum.
There is also a steam locomotive in the museum, which Taylor found abandoned in the forest and restored to working condition. At the age of 17, he rebuilt a bulldozer that no adult could repair, and years later built an exact copy of a WWII fighter, which was then sold to a private collection for $ 20,000.
All in all, Granger Taylor was definitely a unique person, very talented, diligent and collected. But then he became interested in UFOs. He was so engrossed in the question of what principle of flying a flying saucer that he devoted himself to solving it.
Soon he built his own "dish" on the site of his parents, which he built from two satellite dishes. This "plate" became his "dacha" when he equipped a wood-burning stove there, put a sofa and a TV. He often spent time there, sometimes sleeping at night.
This "plate" still stands in the same place as a kind of monument to Granger Taylor.
Shortly before his strange disappearance, Taylor began to talk about how he made contact with aliens and they should tell him about their technology. And after a while, he began to tell all his friends and acquaintances that he would soon go on a trip on an alien spaceship.
According to one of his friends, Taylor contacted the aliens through mental contact and immediately received an invitation from them to explore the solar system with them.

One night in November 1980, he left a note for his parents and disappeared without a trace. Despite the investigation, he was never found dead or alive and there was no clue as to what happened to him.
And in his note was written this:
Taylor's belongings mostly consisted of old cars and tractors, which filled the entire yard.
On the night that Granger went missing, a violent storm raged on Vancouver Island with hurricane winds. This subsequently radically complicated the search for the man and not even a trace of his pickup was found, in which he left home.
The 42-month deadline expired in May 1984, but Taylor never returned. Ufologists believe that Taylor was really voluntarily taken with them by aliens, and he could not return for various reasons - maybe he was so struck by what he saw that he decided to continue traveling through the universe, or maybe he accidentally died somewhere.
Skeptics were convinced that, having driven out during the storm, Taylor could have been involved in an accident, swerve into a ditch, or crash when he fell off a cliff.
In 1986, on Mount Prevost, near Duncan, a place was found where some kind of explosion had occurred several years earlier. And in its center were found the bones of an unknown man. Unfortunately, DNA testing was not yet so common in those years, but the bone coroner concluded that the deceased was the same age, gender, race and height as Granger Taylor. And the piece of cloth among the bones was very similar in design to Taylor's favorite shirt.
The remains of a truck were also found near the bones and were identified as similar to Taylor's pickup truck. Thus, Taylor's disappearance case was officially closed.
However, many of Taylor's friends did not agree with this, they are sure that the police's conclusions are only circumstantial, and their friend either remained in space or was kidnapped by the US government.
The reason for the explosion on Mount Prevo remained unclear. Taylor knew how to handle explosives, so it could pass for suicide, but friends and parents assured that Taylor had no tendencies for this and nothing in his appearance and behavior in the days before his disappearance did not indicate depression.
Taylor's best friend Robert Keller says the police were very negligent and that they wrote that the remains of the truck found on the mountain were Taylor's blue pickup truck. However, Keller assures that Taylor's pickup was not blue at all, but with pink stripes.
