Scientists from the Kyoto University of Science conducted a series of experiments with representatives of various groups of primates and put forward an interesting theory. Japanese experts believe that monkeys could have descended from humans, and not vice versa.
The researchers came to such conclusions after training a chimpanzee named Ayumu. The primate managed to memorize and reproduce in order the numbers from 1 to 10, located on the board at random. This confirms that monkeys have a mind, albeit less developed than that of humans. Based on this information, it can be argued that some species of primates originated from humans, and not vice versa.
Also, during the experiments, scientists suggested that in the past, there were entire colonies of developed monkeys on the planet. Over time, the civilization of "smart" primates was exterminated, but after it there were many traces that scientists find to this day. For example, it is worth remembering the remains of a great ape and a new fossil human species discovered in France. Scientists explain that their body structures are strikingly similar, but differ slightly in shape and size. This fact may indicate a transitional stage from human to primate.
