In the capital of Colombia, Bogota, there is a gold museum that houses the largest collection of gold artifacts from the pre-Columbian Indians. The total number of exhibits presented at the exhibition is about 36 thousand. One of the most amazing expositions of the museum is 30 miniature aircraft copies. But where did the ancient Indians have such high-tech vehicles?
American Indians treated gold with special respect - they considered it a sacred metal, capable of storing the energy of the sun and transmitting it to people. That is why they made numerous gold figurines, jewelry and even household items. And given that the inhabitants of the continent had no problems with gold, they could well afford to even give gold items to their guests. Garments were also made of gold. Many researchers are sure that thanks to such elements of the costume, the ancient Indians were able to somehow accumulate energy.
A special place in the gold museum is occupied by a small collection of small golden airplanes. They are officially called religious ornaments. Airplanes were indeed most likely made as decorations for VIPs. These figurines are stylized representations of birds, fish, insects and animals. But upon closer inspection, all of these figures are very reminiscent of models of jet aircraft. Especially if you look at the products in profile.
The triangular wings of the aircraft are horizontal and curve slightly downward. Such triangular wings began to be used in aircraft construction only in the 1950s. Such aircraft showed high flight performance. And since the 1980s, the same wings have been used in the design of gliders and ultralight aircraft.
Another important distinctive feature of the Indian gold airplanes is the presence between the wings and the tail of a kind of ailerons - aerodynamic aircraft controls. The tail is made in the form of a regular triangle and is located strictly perpendicular to the wings.

The small golden airplanes of the Indians have been carefully studied not only by archaeologists and historians, but also by aircraft designers. And they all came to a consensus that the artifacts found are prototypes of something mechanical, not biological.
There were doubts about the location of the wings - they should be closer to the nose. However, aerodynamic experts decided to conduct an experiment. They modeled copies of gold airplanes and tested their properties in a wind tunnel. It turned out that the models had very good flight characteristics. One of the test aircraft was able to perform such complex techniques as "loop" and "barrel" in the air. He could also carry out planning even with the engine temporarily turned off.
Other test designers in practice, when creating aircraft, applied the solutions of the deltoid wing and high vertical rudder. Such models have shown good results when flying at supersonic speeds. And while scientists argue about what the figures are - prototypes of airplanes or some living creatures, ancient technologies are being introduced in the modern world.
