The Vedas speak about the Soul as follows:
In fact, no one has any idea what the soul is. The fact is that the soul is the cause of the mind and mind, using these two tools we can perceive only what they are able to convey to us, but the soul is greater than their ability to perceive, since they are part of it.
Everything that we can see, everything that can be described in words, classified and recorded, the objects around us, living things and what seems to be inanimate, all of this, of course, refers to the visible surrounding world, material nature. But we know that there is an invisible part of this world, energies and subtle planes of existence that we feel, but cannot describe in words. This part of the world is hidden from rough touch, it is accessible only to inner understanding.
Such sensations as intuition, about which they talk a lot, but understand little, willpower, all these are energies that work in us, but we do not always see them and therefore are not used to trusting them. Undoubtedly, each of us has a mind, some of us may have signs of reason, but neither one nor the other we will not be able to see or touch with our hands, they seem to be there, but it seems they are not. We learn about them in some other way.
There are many “things” in the world that are elusive for direct, rough physical perception. We do not see them, but we know about them, we recognize the fact of their existence. We can tell. that in a person there is a talent, a spark of God, but in reality we see only the consequence, manifestations of this talent - its final product - paintings, books, films, great and not so inventions, scientific ideas, etc., but the talent itself is invisible - it has no physical shell, it is not tangible. A lot of things are hidden on the invisible side of human existence.

Perhaps what we cannot see, what we cannot describe in words is the main thing in a person, in his existence, in his purpose.
We also physically cannot see the Soul, but all its manifestations, all qualities are noticeable in every person. We habitually say - "sincere" person or, on the contrary - "soulless", but at the same time we can also deny the existence of the Soul as an immortal and eternally existing part of every person. What we consider to be inanimate matter definitely exists as consciousness. Nothing appears from anywhere.., matter does not arise from emptiness, it is just a form of consciousness … Each object has its own animate, personal prototype - a reflection in the spiritual world … The human body is just its material shell, a temporary vessel in which it is temporarily located Eternal Soul. The soul, which in turn … fills the body with life and Consciousness … Through Consciousness comes the understanding of our * I *, I * see, I feel, I live. *
People from time immemorial have been trying to understand what matter is. Our senses perceive only what lies on the surface, they slide along the outer side of being, which is called matter. And in the ancient scriptures we read that great saints refer to everything in this world as to the Soul. Why is what is inanimate matter for us, for them - an animate reality? How can we understand that matter is the shadow side of consciousness? They see the Soul through the material shell. They look not at a shadow, but at a person. A conscious being is more real than its shadow, which our clouded consciousness perceives as matter.
