In this article, I will talk about interesting structures called "wells" in India, but whether they are such is another question.
There are many incredible things in India, and one of these incredible structures is the stepped "wells". They just created them so architecturally complex that they are not wells, but some kind of technical structure.
And now, it is worth talking about the wells themselves, the first in this article will be Rani-ki-Vav in the city of Patan. It is rather not a well, but a whole complex with a depth of 24 meters, a width of about 20 meters and a length of 64 meters.
But the size of this well, in my opinion, is not as important as some other features. Namely, statues, of which there were about 1500, 500 of which are large, and the rest are already smaller.
In the "well" itself, after the official opening, scientists discovered a move that, according to history, was supposedly intended for the ruler. I directly imagine how the ruler came to the "well", it is not known why, then he was attacked, and there is a tunnel just for escape, brilliant, isn't it?

Indeed, according to the official version, all such wells were built only in connection with the arid climate of India. But why, when there was an arid climate and water was needed, they did not make primitive wells, but what a huge masterpiece complex?
I see the only explanation that these objects were not "step wells", but structures of a different purpose, to which a reservoir of water was simply added. This is how it sounds much more believable.
The next "well" is called Chand Baori. This object is no less interesting, since the place with water occupies the smallest part of this structure, which consists of many steps.
As you might guess, this object was distinguished by its steps. There are 3500 of them in total, located on 13 levels.
Again, I want to ask the question, if there was a need for water, why are these 3500 steps? Why can't you make one, straight and primitive staircase? This is, of course, if you believe that such structures were created by ancient people with primitive tools, which, of course, is funny.
But if such "wells" are not such (which is most likely), then the motives of an unknown civilization for creating such masterpieces, our civilization will simply be difficult to understand.
By the way, the most important thing in Chand Baori is that water should not be consumed, as it is dangerous, according to many scientists. Now they stay there for a short while to wash their hands and feet. Why not build a huge structure with thousands of steps to wash your hands and feet, nothing special.
In fact, I have read a lot about stepped "wells", but I single out only these two among all in India. Although maybe I just don't know about some other objects. But the last in the article will be Agrasen-ki-Baoli.
Although this structure can hardly be called a well, the primitive masonry immediately catches the eye. This object is already different from the ones described above, although all the same, as a well, the place raises certain questions.
The building has several "floors", if you can call them that, and a large staircase going down.
In general, there are a lot of similar structures, called "wells", as many experts say. Some of them are flooded, others are underground, but one way or another, they are all difficult to explain, according to the official version of their purpose.
To summarize, as I said above, such structures, it seems to me, were something completely different, and the reservoirs with water were either completed on purpose, or they generally appeared later.
Otherwise, such complex systems, architecture and many elements are difficult to explain. By the way, according to some legends, the wells allegedly appeared in an instant. For example, Rani-ki-Vav, supposedly someone built in one night. All this says only that the first builders of these amazing objects are simply unknown, as well as the purpose of these objects.
