What results have the military achieved at their closed facilities, working much more than 20 years and having unlimited funding, one can only guess.
Technically, a genetically modified soldier can be soldered right now, using exclusively drugs that can be bought by mail order and, sometimes, even at a nearby pharmacy. However, it is likely that the DARPA specimens are much more advanced. And, apparently, very valuable.

However, in light of historical perspectives, such reverence for Pentagon consumables is highly unusual. Literally six months ago, the President of Russia spoke on the topic of genetic modifications, explaining that such experiments are worse than an atomic bomb, that they should either be strictly controlled by the UN, or should be banned altogether.
The Western press interpreted this as “Putin is scaring again,” but the speech, most likely, was somewhat wrong, and the President of Russia, apparently, hinted at such US experiments. In particular, the use by the Pentagon of genetically modified people in Syria.
However, the sensational topic for some unknown reason suddenly somehow died out, although the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Syria to the UN did not say that they had discovered a new breed of butterflies in Syria. He said that experiments on humans are being conducted in the United States, for which a few decades ago, very, very many were hanged:
