The "cap of invisibility" and the ability of telepathy may appear in humanity already in this century. And contact with aliens is a matter of decades. This is the opinion of Michio Kaku, one of the most prominent physicists in the world - professor at the American City University of New York.

The published book of the scientist - "Physics of the Impossibe", from which it follows that even the most incredible - perhaps a matter of time. In his work, the professor classifies various fantastic things in terms of the likelihood of their embodiment in reality.

“Very often some phenomena are declared impossible, but one or several decades pass - and it turns out that they are possible,” the Guardian professor is quoted as saying.

In science fiction books and films, heroes have long been using both a time machine and a perpetual motion machine, and instantaneous travel over long distances - teleportation. People fight cyborgs, and they have powerful blasters in their arsenal. What of this will our contemporaries be able to see?

Michio Kaku has laid out “on the shelves” fantastic phenomena that either will soon become a reality, or if they come true, it will shake the very foundations of modern physics.

Impossible. Type No. 1

"Fields of power", invisibility, teleportation, telepathy, psychokinesis, cyborgs, aliens, starships, antimatter and antiworlds. To this type, the scientist attributed that which is still impossible at the present time, but does not contradict the known laws of physics. All this may appear already in this or the 22nd century.

Impossible. Type No. 2

Faster travel, time travel, parallel worlds. These technologies, which are on the verge of our understanding of the physical world, can be realized in thousands or millions of years.

Impossible. Type No. 3

Perpetual motion machine, foresight. Technologies that contradict the well-known laws of modern physics. If they turn out to be possible, it would mean a fundamental shift in our understanding of physics.

Perhaps the most favorite topic of science fiction writers is the time machine. Physicists have never been able to find a reason why time travel could theoretically be considered impossible. Therefore, scientists focused on the opposite - the practical implementation of this idea in life.

Scientists plan to penetrate into the past through the so-called "worm holes" that connect different points in time and space. However, in order to maintain open space tunnels, a huge charge of so-called "negative energy" is required. Previously, its existence was not recognized, but now it can be obtained in laboratory conditions. But in any case, there are still many mysteries in this theory and, according to Kaku, in the next few thousand years, a time machine is unlikely to be created.

Experiments on teleportation are in full swing, which have even been crowned with relative success. Physicists managed to move a photon 142 kilometers between the two Canary Islands - from La Palma to Tenerife. But as Kaku admits, in fact, the original object is destroyed during the experiment, and its twin materializes at the destination, possessing the same set of information. The professor adds that the idea of teleportation will be fully realized no earlier than in a couple of centuries.

Another incredible mechanism that excites the minds of mankind is the ability to become invisible. According to the professor, this fantastic technology can be mastered one of the first. Scientists are working to create an unusual composite - the so-called metamaterial, which does not cast shadows and does not give reflections, which makes the object invisible to others. By the way, Kaku does not exclude that no one has yet met time travelers just because they can become "invisible".

For several decades, astronomers have been looking for living intelligent beings in space. Until now, the search was conducted haphazardly. But thanks to satellites, the capabilities of scientists have expanded significantly.

“So far we have scanned about a thousand stars, and this is nothing on the scale of the Universe. We expect to analyze a thousand times more information than we managed to collect during the entire search period before that,”said Kaku.

According to the physicist, contact with an alien civilization may take place in the coming decades.
