The Muslims had a belief that Adam, expelled from paradise, descended to earth on the island of Ceylon, and from there he crossed to the mainland precisely along this bridge.

You could cross the bridge to the island without any problems. Everything changed after a strong earthquake that happened at the end of the 15th century. After powerful aftershocks, the bridge sagged and half collapsed. Although on the maps of ancient sailors from Portugal, the bridge was still designated as suitable for crossing from the island to the mainland.
The length of the bridge is amazing, it is more than 50 km. The width is no less interesting: from 1.5 to 4 km. Such a structure cannot be erected even with current technologies, let alone ancient possibilities. The sea depth in these places is about 10 meters. Even now, on a kind of bridge, you can go to the continent, however, in some places you have to walk waist-deep in water. Such a journey is impossible only in one place, where the depth is much deeper and the advancement of small ships is possible. Here you can only swim, but the current in this place is strong, which can only be overcome by hardy swimmers.
Large ships have to sail around the island, which, of course, cannot be liked by sailors. The Indian government wanted to make a passage for ships across the Adam's Bridge, but an unknown force stepped in. The dredgers, which were supposed to remove the bridge at the place of passage of the ships, were constantly out of order, their bucket teeth broke. Then a storm struck, due to which many ships involved in construction work were seriously damaged. Believers said that the gods did not allow the destruction of the sacred structure. In addition, the authorities considered that the island needed the bridge as protection from tsunamis that often occur in the region.
From satellite images on which this sandbank can be viewed, it can be concluded that the crossing was made by hand. Although scientists are in no hurry to recognize the artificial origin of the object, saying that it may be a real miracle of nature.
