It is this place that is considered almost the most mystical in Latvia. The Pokain forest is called an anomalous zone that affects the electromagnetic field of the entire planet.

Now the forest in Pokaini is popular with tourists not only from Latvia, people come here from different parts of the world. Someone comes here with the hope of being cured of diseases. Many of those who have visited the Pokain forest note one strange feature: here the heart begins to beat faster. Scientists have found some explanation for this. Human blood is a kind of electrolyte and is involved in electrochemical processes that occur in the body. These processes are influenced by the change in the Earth's magnetic field, which is observed in certain places on our planet. This is exactly the place that is the Pokaina forest in Latvia.

Although, being in the forest affects different people in different ways. Some here feel a surge of strength and energy, others come to be cured of illnesses, others try to leave the forest as soon as possible because of unpleasant sensations and a feeling of malaise, others do not feel anything unusual at all. However, almost all tourists note a strange feature: there is always good sunny weather in the forest - even when it is raining everywhere around.

There are several theories surrounding all of these and other Pokaine Forest anomalies. According to one of them, the earth's energy axis passes not far from this place. For this reason, according to some researchers, local Semigallians gathered here in ancient times and performed their rituals. According to legend, they were able not only to predict the future, but also, if necessary, make changes to it. Also, the Semigallians allegedly could become invisible and bring out women and children during the siege.

According to another version, the forest in Latvia is associated with cosmic and underground energies. In general, for the first time, science became aware of forest anomalies in the mid-70s of the last century. Then, while studying the military activity of the USSR, NASA satellites discovered an incredibly powerful source of underground radiation. Then the Americans were convinced that the radiation was due to some kind of military facility built under the hills of Pokayne Forest. However, later no objects were found here.

But they found stones that appeared from nowhere in the forest in such quantities. Although there are suggestions that these stones were brought here for the purpose of building a castle. But now these very stones are credited with amazing abilities to heal female infertility, bring happiness in personal life, and even strengthen marriages. Local guides even show travelers the warm stones of the Pokaine Forest. And they also talk about another mysterious feature: if you stand on different hills that are located in the forest at a sufficiently large distance from each other, you can talk to each other in a whisper.

Now the forest has a developed tourist infrastructure with paths, signs, a parking lot and a ticket office. For a walk in the forest, it is better to use the services of a guide or at least buy a map. And in no case should you take stones from here as a keepsake.
