The Ecocenter in Omsk called the birth of a two-headed python a symbol of good luck. It turned out to be the son of a green tree python, Aru, who appeared in this center six years ago. Moreover, this is his first offspring.
In total, eleven snakes hatched, and among them was one Siamese twin - a python with two heads, according to the local portal "Novy Omsk". As a rule, two-headed cubs cannot survive in wildlife conditions, but in a zoo an unusual baby has a chance.
At the same time, a specialist of the Kaliopi Children's Ecological and Biological Center Kulikova, in a commentary to the Om1 portal, noted that among snakes, the presence of two heads in one individual is the most typical type of mutation.
According to her, such a violation occurs due to the same biological processes as the birth of Siamese twins in humans.
The Ecocenter of Omsk plans to leave the baby and leave it in the zoo. It is also noted that in natural conditions, people usually catch such individuals and keep them as a talisman.
