In the Sverdlovsk Region, there is a rather interesting place for those who like to tickle the nerves - the abandoned village of Rastess. Locals claim that UFOs and Bigfoot regularly appear in that place, and the nearby cemetery is full of dug graves. Those few who dared to visit an abandoned settlement are not eager to return there. So what's going on in the mysterious Rustess place?
The village is located in the center of the strategically important Babinovskaya road - founded in the 16th century, it connects Solikamsk and Verkhoturye. For several centuries, the highway was the most important artery connecting the European and Asian parts of Russia. But then the Siberian-Moscow tract was opened, and the Babinovskaya road quickly turned out to be of no use to anyone. The very first mention of the village of Rastess in the "Patrol Book of Tarakanov" refers to the first half of the 17th century. Soon, by the middle of the century, Rastess already numbered about forty households - by those standards, it was considered a fairly large settlement. Those who lived there soon found themselves busy with gold mining, which continued until the settlement was preserved.
The Soviet times have come. One fine day, all the inhabitants of Rastes suddenly left the village, abandoning all their belongings and all acquired property. One of the local residents, whose family has lived in Rastes for a long time, does not see, however, anything abnormal in this - with the closure of the food store there, people had to go to the neighboring village to buy food, which was several kilometers away. Quite a short distance, if not for the off-road, which turned a banal hike for bread into a real test. As a result, many began to sell their belongings in order to move closer to the benefits of civilization. Those who could not get hold of the sale of their property simply threw it and left light. The remaining residents were annoyed by marauders - immigrants from the local colony-settlement, who sometimes had the right to go beyond its borders.
The plundering of graves is also explained by the tricks of the prisoners - they thought that valuable things might lie in the ancient crypts, but soon became disillusioned, finding there a simple and fairly outdated belongings.
Nevertheless, there is still an aura of mysticism in Rostess. According to the stories of local residents, shortly before the start of World War II, strange chants suddenly began to be heard from the river, which, without thinking twice, were immediately attributed to mermaids. A month later, the war began, but many managed to prepare for it by purchasing food. The riddle of the songs heard was never solved.

In conclusion, I would like to note that even if UFOs do not come here at night and yeti do not wander in, it is very interesting to visit abandoned houses with intact property, as well as to visit the cemetery - dug graves with the remains thrown out look very impressive. The only drawback can be chronic off-road conditions, as well as remoteness from crowded places, but even this will not stop fans of extreme recreation.
