Residents of the Sverdlovsk region bypass the abandoned village of Rastess on the banks of the Kyrya River, which has been empty for 60 years. The mysterious disappearance of its inhabitants still worries Russian scientists trying to find answers to their questions.
It was built in the 16th century after the decree of a relative of Tsar Fyodor Ioannovich, who perfectly understood what benefits could be obtained after the development of new lands. Boris Godunov decided to pave a road allowing travel from Europe to Asian countries, after which the project of Artemy Babinov was brought to life. He not only fulfilled the desire of the future ruler of Russia, but also founded settlements along the way, where people could rest and change horses. Then the village had a church and a school, after which a meteorological station appeared here.
On the way, they carried the decrees of the sovereign and the treasury, which also related to mail, and it also suited diplomats and scientists. After the construction of new Siberian highways, deposits of gold and platinum were found near this place, which allowed the population to live in prosperity and put marble monuments in the cemetery. In the 20th century, 500 fellow villagers remained here, often leaving their homes in search of earnings. Not far from the village lived freed prisoners who robbed people's houses and unearthed graves in search of treasure.
In the 1950s, residents of neighboring Kytlym noticed that they had not seen their fellows for a long time, after which they decided to come to Rastess themselves. They were struck by the unusual silence, drawing attention to the unkempt appearance of the livestock. Houses stood with open doors, and inside all things were in place, and even food was on the tables, only the owners disappeared without a trace. The stricken witnesses of the event were frightened by the dug graves, after which they immediately reported the incident to the officers of the authorities.
At first, the investigators assumed that the criminals had killed people, only traces of blood were not found anywhere. Then some people remembered the strange stories of the injured persons who saw a mysterious glow in the sky. They also frequently mentioned the family, which saw various creatures and UFOs along with eerie whispers at night.
At first, curious guests entered the territory of the cursed place, where they heard the sounds of invisible voices and noticed mysterious lights, but then people began to bypass the anomalous zone due to evil spirits, and also refused to accompany researchers and tourists here.

Today, only a couple of abandoned ruined houses and one old burial can be seen against the background of a swampy field with holes, and a part of the road has also been preserved. Researchers have tried many times to find the culprit for the disappearance of residents, but immediately faced a string of failures that followed them during their work. They immediately noted that samples of materials filled with incomprehensible energy cannot be taken from here, and the experts also had a strange feeling that invisible creatures were watching them.
In addition, transport began to break down, and equipment went out of order, but strong thunderstorms with flashing lightning often occurred here. Previously, there were versions about evil spirits that took new victims with them, but now experts assume that UFOs flew here or people simply left for a parallel world.
