There is a mysterious territory in Mexico, although few know about it. This is the "Zone of Silence", located in the desert, 400 miles from the American city of El Paso (Texas). The main strangeness of this territory lies primarily in the fact that radio receivers go out here and not a single TV is receiving transmissions. The "Zone of Silence" is a flat, dull plain, where frail thorny bushes and cacti are found only occasionally, and poisonous snakes are found in abundance. Nevertheless, people have settled here since prehistoric times, settling around a few springs. Some sources have not dried up to this day. The nearest settlement to the borders of the zone - the town of Seballos in the state of Durango - is 25 miles away from it. Now each research expedition is sent to the depths of the zone from Seballos. According to Dr. Santiago Garcia,people knew about the oddities in this zone back in the middle of the 19th century. Already in those days, farmers often saw "hot stones" falling to the ground from a clear sky. In the 30s of this century, Francisco Sarabia, one pilot of the airline of the Mexican state of Coahuila, stopped working the radio station for no apparent reason during a flight over the zone. However, both the authorities and the public became really interested in the "quirks" of the zone only in the 70s, when the American experimental ballistic missile "Athena", launched from the White Sands test site, suddenly deviated from the course and rushed to this zone, and having reached it, fell to the ground. A few years later, one of the stages of the Saturn rocket, the carrier of the Apollo spacecraft, exploded over the zone. After that, the US military department sent a special team to study the mysterious features of the ill-fated territory.
One of the first scientists to investigate the "Zone of Silence" and its strange properties was Harry de la Pena. He and his group immediately discovered that communication with portable radios was not possible here. There seems to be some kind of magnetic force acting in this region, suppressing radio waves.
Since the first expedition of Harry de la Pena, experts from all over the world have been visiting the area, using as a base camp a town built in the heart of it by the Mexican government. Scientists working in the town began to call the zone "The Tethys Sea" (after the name of the ancient ocean that flooded these places millions of years ago), and the research laboratory in the center of the town, designed to study the unusual forms of biological life and the paranormal phenomena occurring here, was dubbed " Biosphere ".
In this wild corner of the Mexican desert, the appearance of UFOs and humanoid creatures of clearly extraterrestrial origin has been noted more than once. A few years ago, local residents were still alive, remembering how in the first decades of our century they met intelligent creatures of strange appearance and behavior. On October 3, 1975, spouses Ernesto and Josephine Diaz, entrepreneurs and amateur archaeologists, drove into the area in their Ford pickup truck, intent on collecting unusual stones and fossilized remains of ancient animals. Carried away by the search, they did not immediately notice the approaching thunderstorm, but after a few minutes they hastily collected and put their finds in the car and rushed away from the impending flood. But the thunderstorm still overtook them, and the dirt road under the wheels of the car instantly turned into a shaky swamp. The pickup truck stalledstopped and began to sink slowly into the sodden soil.
While Ernesto and Josephine were trying to prevent the car from getting completely bogged down in the mud, two human figures appeared in the distance. They walked to the car through the torrents of rain and waved their hands affably. Two very tall guys in yellow raincoats and hats offered their help to desperate travelers. The faces of the strangers were unusual, but they did not inspire fear, and the spouses, soaked to the skin, accepted their offer with gratitude. The guys asked the spouses to sit back in the pickup cab, while they themselves moved to the back of the body. And before Ernesto and Josephine realized what was happening, their car literally flew out onto solid ground from a huge puddle of liquid mud! When Ernesto came to his senses came out of the cockpit to thank the unexpected rescuers, they were nowhere to be seen. I could only guesshow could they so quickly disappear from sight on this level, almost bare ground.
Travelers regularly crossing the area have reported strange lights or fireballs moving above the ground at night. For a while, they hang motionless in the air, changing their color, and then suddenly take off and disappear with the speed of lightning. And two farmers, returning home from a friend's party, said that they saw a huge UFO in the form of a brightly glowing ball, which fell from a dark sky to the earth, and humanoids emerged from it, shining with the same strange light. The humanoids went to the stunned farmers, but they came to their senses and fled.
It happens that after such nocturnal phenomena, quite material traces remain. One local resident, observing the mysterious lights, returned the next morning to where they wandered at night, and saw burnt or scorched tufts of grass and frail bushes. And there are a lot of such messages from the zone, and most of them come from people who are quite trustworthy.

Dr. Santiago Garcia, who has devoted much of his life to the study of this anomalous area, has suggested that the source of some of the wandering lights may have been an experimental robot reconnaissance, tested here by the US military. During the day, his solar panels were automatically recharged, and at night he secretly performed his research. Garcia recalled that when an Air Force team arrived at the scene of the Athena crash to collect its wreckage, the military also took with them several trucks of soil they had taken from the desert for analysis. It is believed that this area contains rich deposits of magnetite, and that it is this iron ore that is responsible for the suppression of electromagnetic waves. In addition, it has been proven that the rocks of the ridges surrounding the "Zone of Silence" contain significant amounts of uranium.
In 1976, the first photographs of a UFO were taken in this area, landing near a local topographic landmark - Magnetic Mountain. The pictures clearly show a sparkling silvery object that looks like a huge roast patch. The successful photojournalist managed to take several pictures and during the takeoff of the UFO, when it soared upward with a loud roar, rushed to the west and quickly disappeared from sight.
However, not all aliens are so elusive. One small ranch near the border of the zone was regularly visited by three tall, long-haired, blond personalities - two men and one woman, whom the owners of the estate describe as exceptionally polite, very handsome, but strangely dressed people. And although they spoke flawlessly in Spanish, there was an unusual musical ringing in the timbre of their voices. These mysterious visitors came solely to replenish water supplies. They politely asked permission to fill the flasks they brought with them with water from the well and never asked for food or anything other than water at all. When asked where they came from, they smiled and answered: "From above." Maybe these aliens "from above" were those Nordic personalitieswhich have recently been frequently mentioned by ufologists? Spanish researcher Antonio Ribeira describes similar blondes found in the Pyrenees, near Rosellon, where they ask the locals to sell them bread and milk, paying for these products with pieces of pure gold. The hair of these generous strangers is almost white. Many saw the same fair-haired handsome men on the other half of the world, in California, near the Sierra Nevada, where they often descended into the valley for "barter" deals with local residents. The impressions one gets when visiting the "Zone of Silence" can hardly be forgotten. The journalist Luis Ramirez Reyes will remember them forever. In November 1978, he went to the zone as part of a group of journalists who were supposed to collect materials for publications about this mysterious corner of Mexico on the spot.
Determined to get ahead of the rest of the group, Ramirez and his photographer took a jeep deep into the desert to be the first to reach the Biosphere. They rode guided by intuition rather than a clear idea of their route.
The reckless travelers were still very far from the final destination of the trip, when Ramirez suddenly realized that they had not taken any supplies with them - no water, no provisions - and could easily die of thirst and hunger if they suddenly get lost in this harsh desert. Soon they reached a fork in the sandy road with a barely rolled track and chose their further path wrong. After a while Ramirez noticed three figures wandering towards them ahead. Hoping that these were locals who could find out the way to the Biosphere, he asked the photographer who was driving to stop the car. But to the surprise of Ramirez, the jeep drove past them without slowing down! When asked why the photographer did not stop near people walking along the road, he replied that he did not see any people on the road!
Ramirez thought that the desert had already affected his psyche and he began to see visions. But these three looked like ordinary people, their clothes were the same as those of the local people. The jeep drove a couple more miles, and Ramirez, to his amazement, again saw the same three locals ahead. When the car drew level with them, Ramirez asked the photographer (who still hadn't seen anyone on the road) to stop and began to question those he met about the road to the Biosphere. They explained that they had to turn aside and go along the mountainous part of the "Tethys Sea" along the road that would lead them to the "Biosphere". The locals also reported that they were looking here for their lost sheep and goats, although they did not have flasks of water or special equipment needed by travelers in the harsh conditions here.
Following the recommendations received from the "aborigines", the travelers after a while sighed with relief, seeing in the distance the high building of the "Biosphere". When they reached her and met with the rest of their group, Ramirez told the crowd about the strange encounter in the desert. Harry de la Pena, the current head of the laboratory, who listened attentively to him, remarked in an instructive tone that there were no peasants or other people in the desert, except for the arrived group of correspondents and those who make up the permanent contingent of the "Biosphere". And of course, there are no sheep or goats to look after. A survey of the area conducted in the following days made it possible to make sure that the desert was completely deserted for tens of miles around. But if the creatures encountered were not natives,and in general, the people-Nordic visitors and other humanoids are not the only mysterious subjects that catch the eye of people in this region. There are reports of encounters with strangely dressed creatures only a few tens of centimeters tall! When local businessman Ruben Lopez was driving through the Tethys Sea to Seballos at night, his car's engine suddenly began to stutter. He was very surprised because the car had just been fully serviced. Suddenly ahead, thirty meters away, Lopez noticed five dwarf figures standing at the edge of the road. At first he thought they were lost children, but then he saw that they were wearing silver overalls, and their heads were covered with helmets similar to motorcycle ones. When they began to approach the stopped car, as if surrounding him, Lopez was seriously scared. He thrashed sharply in neutral, the engine howled, and the stunted creatures scattered into the darkness of the night. After the strange dwarfs disappeared from sight, the car's engine started working normally again.
There is another mystery in the "Tethys Sea" - an archaeological one. These are the ruins of a very ancient complex of gigantic stone structures. So far, scientists cannot accurately name the age of these ruins, but they are sure that these are the remains of an astronomical observatory built several millennia ago. They could not have been created by primitive primitive tribes who settled near the springs gushing out of the earth. This means that in ancient times some other people or other intelligent beings were very active here. Perhaps they, as well as modern astronomers and geologists, were interested in the meteorites falling to the ground in large numbers in the "Tethys Sea". And the meteorite that fell in the late 50s near Chihuahua, the main city of the Mexican state of the same name, contained crystal structures much older than our solar system!According to Professor Luis Maeda Villalobos, the material of this meteorite is as ancient as the Universe itself. The solar system is five billion years old, and this meteorite, according to scientists, is as much as seven billion years older!
What is the main reason for the strange and mysterious events taking place in the "Zone of Silence"? UFOs with their crews, aliens from parallel worlds who find it easier to operate in this region with a magnetic anomaly, or just poorly understood natural features of this area? There is no answer to this question yet. Perhaps, even thousands of years ago, the ancient builders of the mysterious observatory did not have it, the ruins of which themselves represent for us yet another, so far insoluble, mystery.
