An 11-year-old schoolgirl from Novorossiysk had a parasite in her stomach for over a year, similar to a rare fish from the Amazon Valley. The animal fed on the child's blood and poisoned the girl's body with waste products. As a result, she developed a terrible disease - cirrhosis of the liver. It is reported by LifeNews.
Sasha O. is now in intensive care in a serious condition. Doctors give her a blood transfusion every day, but they do not undertake to make predictions. For more than a year, the child had either a fish or an exotic parasite unknown to local doctors, - says the mother of a young resident of Novorossiysk.
- We need a transplant now, because the child has no liver left, - says the girl's mother Svetlana B.
According to the descriptions, the fish most of all resembles the kandira catfish, which can swim into the human urethra and drink blood. The catfish lives on the Amazon.
Sasha's mom admits that she could not even imagine that inside her daughter was parasitized by fish. The girl never complained about her health, but a few months ago her stomach was swollen. The schoolgirl felt bad.
- They called an ambulance, the doctors came, looked and said - it's just constipation. They took me to the hospital, did an enema and say: “Go home,” Svetlana says.
However, after some time, the child became even worse. The girl was again hospitalized. A complete examination showed that Sasha not only has cirrhosis of the liver, but this organ is almost completely absent. According to the girl's mother, a week ago the girl went to the toilet, after which her parents were simply shocked.

According to them, the unidentified creature that emerged from the child was immediately taken to a laboratory that studies helminths. Experts have not been able to accurately establish the type of creature that Sasha's parents brought for research.
Neither experts nor parents can explain how the animal got into the child's body. At the same time, Sasha has never been to exotic countries, but swam in an open reservoir a year ago - it was a local river. Perhaps it was then that Sasha could have swallowed the fish, her father believes.
- It was 2-3 centimeters, so you can't see what it looks like. Some kind of slug, it’s not clear,”recalls the girl’s dad.
Doctors assess Sasha's condition as grave. The operation that the child needs is simply not done in Novorossiysk, and it is not yet possible to transport Sasha to the capital, since she may not survive a long flight.

According to doctors, the story of “an exotic parasite that has been poisoning the child with the products of its vital activity for more than a year” was invented by the parents to draw attention to their trouble. According to the medical report, the cause of the serious illness was autoimmune hepatitis, that is, a failure of the immune system, which led to the active phase of liver cirrhosis. In addition, the child has a whole bunch of concomitant diseases.
The girl fell ill at the beginning of this January, when for no apparent reason she developed swelling of the abdomen and lower extremities. Since then, she has been repeatedly treated at her place of residence, as well as in the gastroenterology department of the Children's Regional Clinical Hospital.
“In March 2015, the girl's documents were sent to the FNTSTIO im. Academician V. I. Shumakov “to determine the further tactics of treating the child,” the Ministry of Health of the Krasnodar Territory reported. “Today we received an answer that this institution is ready to accept the child for treatment for a related liver transplant from the mother as part of the provision of high-tech medical care at the expense of the federal budget.”
Kuban officials assure that the information provided by the child's mother is untrue and disseminated in order to attract additional sponsorship funds for a trip to Moscow. According to them, in an informal conversation, the parents confirmed this.
