Experts have already determined that under the trading square on Timiryazeva Street in Irkutsk, a stone building of the 18-19th century was discovered. In the resulting gap, window openings and vaults are clearly visible.
It will require the intervention of archaeologists and historians to determine exactly what kind of building rests under the foundation of the roar. But they still cannot get into the opened "portal" - a fence and guards are set up around the perimeter, who do not let strangers into the territory. The guards do not even allow the shooting of the scene, despite the fact that the hole is located on the territory of a public place. Immediately after the incident, cavers managed to visit the hole, who conducted a small survey and concluded that the building was walled up more than 100 years ago - in one of the passages they found a stalactite.
It is already known that the structure is the basement of a house, it contains several rooms and passages littered with debris from different times. Research is needed to understand the purpose of a home. Scientists do not exclude the possibility that underground passages may be found nearby.

The journalists who ran into the sensational failure had to retire too. The guards literally push back the media representatives, trying to cover the camera lenses with their hands:
“This is a private area. Filming here is strictly prohibited. I don’t go to your house and don’t take pictures. Go to your superiors and get permission."
The journalists failed to find the bosses. The guards expelled all the "borzographers" behind the fence, and the shopping area was locked. Some time later, employees of the market administration arrived at the scene.

“Why are you so interested in this basement floor? A brick house was demolished, and a basement was located under it. Specialists from the regional service for the protection of cultural heritage sites came here. This building was previously featured in the list of newly identified objects. However, back in 2006 it was excluded from the list, not seeing any historical value in the building,”said a representative of the administration, not wanting to understand that under the demolished building there is a real architectural monument, about which no registers know yet.
The workers of the market covered the historic masonry with blue tape, after which the authorities finally gave permission to shoot. Even the police who arrived at the scene were unable to help the journalists. This is a private area, and the owner can do whatever he wants, the law enforcement officials said.

“I learned about the house from the news and came to the place, - said the Irkutsk antiquarian Alexei Prokopyev. - With the naked eye, the tsarist bottles of the 17-18 century are visible in the hole, for some it is garbage, but in fact it is a real treasure. We have all the necessary equipment: metal detectors, scanners. We are ready to start work as soon as permission is given. If you look, the museums of the city of Irkutsk will be replenished with valuable exhibits. A lot can be found at the site of such buildings in Irkutsk - coins, sabers and even weapons."
According to unconfirmed information, the passages of the old building are more than 12 meters long. Time will tell whether examination and excavation will be carried out. In the meantime, a fly will not fly past the ruins. Experts assume that the architectural monument will be covered with gravel or, worse, filled with concrete.
Why the old "underground city" is so heavily guarded remains a mystery, and onlookers are joking, probably there is Kolchak's gold.
