A hitchhiker ghost near Blue Bell Hill in Kent, England began to appear in 1966. Several car drivers once gathered in a small village near Maidstone, worried that the victim of an accident, who was allegedly taken to the hospital by car, had disappeared. Similar incidents have occurred over the course of several years. However, in 1974 such incidents became more frequent. A man from Rochester, who was returning home at dawn on Saturday, hit a girl who was about ten years old. He came back and picked up the girl, who was covered in bruises, crying and calling her mother.
Placing her on the sidewalk, he tried to stop another car, and then covered the girl with a blanket and went to the nearest police station for help. When the police arrived, the girl disappeared, but the blanket was in place. The entire surrounding area was searched with dogs, but the girl was never found.
Nearly twenty years later, in 1992, a driver driving through Blue Bell Hill saw a girl come out of the bushes near the highway. She looked into his eyes and disappeared under the wheels. The man stopped and started looking for the body wherever he could. Later, at Maidstone Police Station, he was told about the ghost of the missing girl. The incident repeated itself several weeks later. The body was never found.
