During a recent archaeological excavation on the island of Guernsey in the English Channel, scientists made a very unexpected discovery. In one of the excavated ancient graves, scientists found the remains of a dolphin.

Philip de Jersey and his colleagues discovered a burial ground in which the bodies of medieval monks were buried. Nevertheless, among them, to everyone's surprise, was the corpse of a marine mammal. The excavation leader reports:

It is very strange. We don't know what to think. Why would someone need to bury a dolphin here centuries ago? His grave was dug very carefully and made so that it looks like a burial place of a person. Apparently, the one who did this attached great importance to this animal. We are at a loss as to why? Dolphins were caught for meat and fat, but this is the first time I see an animal being buried in a full-fledged grave as a person.

Some researchers have suggested that the dolphin could be buried here in order to be eaten later. Say, the monks did not want to dig a special hole, so they put their prey in a grave intended for someone. This hypothesis is supported by traces of salt (a well-known preservative) found in the ground and on the remains of the animal. It is possible that the buried dolphin carcass was simply forgotten, and other people took it for a grave with a human body inside.

However, this theory is no less fantastic than all the others, about which scientists try not to spread too much. Nevertheless, as a hypothesis that does not contradict any dogma of orthodox science, it is quite acceptable. But we invite our readers to think about the real reason for such a burial …
