The prosecutor's offices of Ivdel and the Sverdlovsk region, even before the start of the official search for Igor Dyatlov's group, knew that the tourists from the UPI died in the mountains. A document about this is present in the private archive of investigator Vladimir Korotaev, which was transferred to the writer and researcher Oleg Arkhipov, the correspondent of Nakanune. RU reports.

“This is a document from the archives of investigator Vladimir Korotaev, I received it in September 2016 after several years of searching for the said archive. Korotaev is a legendary investigator of the regional prosecutor's office. I purposefully searched for new details, documents and drafts of the initial, Ivdel period of the investigation into the death of the “Dyatlovites”. They interest me, first of all, in the historical aspect. Junior lawyer Vladimir Korotaev in 1959 worked as an investigator in the prosecutor's office of the city of Ivdel. He has collected a rich and unique archive of the Ivdel (from 1958 to 1962) and the initial Sverdlovsk period of work. This paper with a number of unknown documents will appear in my next book about Dyatlov's group,”Oleg Arkhipov told Nakanune. RU.

The writer noted that he initially worked on the monograph "Ivdel during the search for Dyatlov's group," however, documents and photographs found recently made it possible to create a more extensive work. As a result, the materials for the monograph completely merged into the new research.

“While a new book about the death of the Dyatlovites is being replenished with materials. I am continuing additional work on this document, from the analysis of which it follows that the prosecutor's offices of the Sverdlovsk region and Ivdel, including the prosecutor's office of the RSFSR, knew about the death of tourists from the Igor Dyatlov group even before the official searches began. This is a rather extensive internal document of the supervisory department of the Ural city. And I intend to further verify the facts specified in it accompanying the investigation. There is a lot of archival work ahead,”summed up Arkhipov.

Let us add that the next "Dyatlovskaya" conference, timed to coincide with the anniversary of the events at the pass, will take place in Yekaterinburg on February 2 in the arena of UrFU.

“14 people will speak. The priest will present his version, there will be “outside” people, let them express themselves,”said Yuri Kuntsevich, head of the Dyatlov group memory fund, in an interview with Nakanune. RU.

Recall that Igor Dyatlov's group tragically died in the Northern Urals on the night from February 1 to February 2, 1959. They timed their ski trip of the third, highest (at that time) category of complexity to the XXI Congress of the CPSU. The guys left Yekaterinburg on January 23, 1959. According to the plan, they had to get to Vizhay through Ivdel, climb Mount Kholiat-Syakhyl and return back. On February 12, the tourists were supposed to send a telegram from Vizhay about the successful completion of the route, and three days later - to arrive in Sverdlovsk. But the news of this was not received either on February 12 or 13, or later.

The relatives of the children were the first to worry, after which the search began. On February 6, a case was opened about the death of the group. On February 26, 1959, the search engines found a tattered tent of the Dyatlovites on the slope of the mountain, and on the 27th a series of more sorrowful finds began: in the forest, under a cedar, they found the bodies of Doroshenko and Krivonischenko. Later they found the rest, four of them only in May. Over the years, researchers have put forward almost seven dozen versions of what happened: from an avalanche to a yeti attack. The main ones are considered avalanche, military-man-made, murder by Ivdellag prisoners or local residents, there is even a version of "controlled delivery by the KGB." But there is still no complete clarity in the matter.
