In the American town of Westlake (about five thousand inhabitants) there is a so-called Eternity Christian Academy. As you might guess, the audience is imposed a "divine" view of things. And, as it just turned out, in the Lord's plan a special place is reserved for the cryptid from the popular Scottish lake.
Let it be known to all theologians, scientists, and home-grown monster hunters that Nessie's local textbook on creationism is presented as an argument for the lack of evolution. The Herald Scotland quotes the following from the book: “Do dinosaurs exist today? Scientists are increasingly leaning towards an affirmative answer. Have you heard of the Loch Ness Monster from Scotland? Nessie recorded the sonar of a small submarine, it was described by eyewitnesses and photographed. It appears to be a plesiosaur."
Elsewhere, it tells of the capture of a dinosaur by a Japanese whaling vessel.
Johnny Scaramanga, 27, who once attended that school and now opposes Christian fundamentalism, told reporters that Nessie has been exposed as a counterargument against evolution for years. According to some creationists, sea creatures may well have survived the flood that they believed took place about four thousand years ago.
The Herald Scotland also approached Tony Drummond, who runs Cruise Loch Ness, a travel agency that runs tours of the cherished lake, for comment. He invited the school administration and their wards to use the equipment at the disposal of his company. “We do get regular sonar signals that we can't explain,” said Mr. Drummond. "More research needs to be done."
As for the use of Nessie in the fight against evolution, according to the guide, this is just ridiculous. “Christian propaganda,” the enthusiast shrugs.
