Those who are faced with the death of loved ones often think about the question of the afterlife and the existence of the soul. Experiencing loss, a person, at times, begins to believe that the consciousness of the departed passes into another state, leaving the physical shell - the body. Because of such thoughts, and simply because of the human desire for knowledge, for many years the debate of science and religion about the existence of the soul has not subsided.

The essence of the contradictions is that religion insists on the existence of the soul and on the fact that after death it leaves the body, going to God, Valhalla and so on. However, these claims are harshly rejected by atheists, who believe that they are fictional and may be beneficial to the clergy. Nevertheless, it is very important for believers to think that the soul does exist, because then it is easier for them to survive the loss when a loved one leaves the world of the living, and they want to think that his “non-physical” part is always hovering somewhere nearby, and, someday, the grieving person will also pass away and join the one he has lost.

For scientists, everything is both complicated and simple. Many of them believe that the soul that religion speaks of is the consciousness of a person stored in a hitherto unknown brain. Perhaps religion speaks about the same, but more veiled, braiding God everywhere. However, disputes between believers and science do not subside from this and no end is in sight.

Curiously, science has been trying for years to shed light on the truth in order to understand whether the soul exists or not. Some scientists even managed to weigh it, but many did not believe them, laughed at them, and only the layman dared to suggest that this was possible, and then, over time, he forgot. Nevertheless, science always supports its statements with some kind of evidence, which religion does not. From which the dispute becomes even more acute, and judging by how long it lasts, it can be assumed that it will never exhaust itself.
