In many countries, there is some kind of growing up ritual where a father takes his son or daughter to officially drink their first bottle of beer when they reach the age at which alcohol is allowed.

But in the case of one family from Zimbabwe, this will not work. Three children accuse their father of brewing a cursed beer that has led to the deaths of many family members. They might be better off drinking wine, but the cursed beer and the secrets associated with it will not disappear anywhere.

NewsdzeZimbabwe published a note some time ago with the strange story of Litania, Bridget and Innoset Sibanda from Zvishavan. They were taken to court by their father, Jonas Sibanda, and accused of dumping a traditional home-brewed beer and throwing 30 kilograms of dagussa, a local plant used to make beer, down the toilet to prevent their father from brewing it. But it wasn't that they caused damage.

The father accused the children of "disturbing the peace." He demanded that they never appear in his house again. The latter were summoned to court and said that they had already lost many family members, including their mother, because of this beer, and their two sisters had gone mad. They tried to consult with doctors and healers, and one of them turned to the help of a talking stone. The brewer's offspring were shocked when the stone revealed that their father did not follow all the instructions, this was the cause of a series of deaths in the family.

According to the stone, a man should not brew beer for three years. This is why they poured all the beer. It turned out that my father knew about the talking stone, but he brewed beer anyway, because he was sure that in this way he was saving human lives. Unfortunately, the African edition does not indicate in whose favor the court is leaning.

Be that as it may, we have another story about how beer destroyed a family. But damn alcoholic drinks are common enough. For example, in the English village of Plakley, which is considered the richest in ghosts and the supernatural village, they produce "Gin of evil ghosts", for which "cursed" apples are used.

Every bottle of this gin is cursed during the October full moon by Miss Julianne White, the professional witch. And in Kentucky, one of the factories produces whiskey, which is called "Tanner's Curse", it got this name because the founder of the city built it in the Indian cemetery, for which he paid with the death of his sons and many troubles for the settlement itself.
