One of the wells leads upward inside the statue's body, following the curves of all its four legs, while the other descends vertically and rests on the rock. Both grottoes form an angle of 90 degrees. Their walls are unpolished and look no more polished than in Castilian wine cellars. After a tedious search for traces of processing, it was discovered that the work here was carried out from top to bottom, and in the upper part there were even a semblance of steps, rather holes in the wall, which were dug to facilitate the descent into the tunnel. American geophysicist Thomas Dobecki and Boston University geologist Robert Schoch in the 90s of the XX century established "anomalies and cavities in the mother rock between the legs of the statue and on the sides of the Sphinx." Of the four cavities they discovered, the most interesting for researchers is the one whose size at the base is 9 by 12 meters at a height of 5 meters. The gigantic size and structure of this cavity definitely excludes the assumption that this room is of natural origin. What is kept in the open secret rooms of the Great Sphinx? And this could be realized, as scientists have established, only in the period from 9000 to 11000 BC. Some time ago, a connection was indeed established between the outlines of the Sphinx when viewed from the right side and the constellation Leo, corresponding to 10,500 BC. Thus, we have a number of facts that speak of the extremely ancient age of the Great Sphinx - the date of the most ancient civilizations going into the world before the Flood. The Great Sphinx hides no less ancient secrets, and we still cannot even imagine what their formidable meaning is. There are legends, both in Egypt and among other nations, that at the moment when the secret of the Sphinx and the nearby pyramids will be solved,the end of the world will come: “When the last riddle of the Sphinx is solved, it will burst out laughing, and the world will cease to exist …” This statement seems surprising, but the very direction of the Great Sphinx's gaze - to the east, indirectly confirms this idea.
