Hmm, are there owls taller than 2 meters in height? It's time to call the bird watchers!

“A colleague sent me the next report. This meeting took place about 10 months ago, in the spring of 2019. We tried to contact a witness for more specific information, but so far without success. I present the evidence "as is." If anything else comes up, I'll add this to this post:

“I live in the US Midwest (possibly Illinois - Lon Strickler), 30 miles from Lake Michigan. I am not easily scared and I don’t believe in anything unexplained, but there is definitely an undiscovered species of giant gray owl that lives in the local area. I later assumed she was migrating because I monitored the site for a month after the incident, with weapons and a night vision video camera, hoping to prove what I had said to several people. Some believed me because I am not a storyteller and I try to help people.

The first time I was told about something strange in this area, I did not believe it. It happened in the same place where I saw this owl. I didn't really pay attention to the person who said he saw a 4-foot owl - I totally disbelieved it and loved to laugh at him when he brought it up. I grew up in this place and was much more of an outdoor enthusiast than most adults. My grandfather taught me skills that other children did not know. He went through the second world war. He raised me as strong as a nail, hoping that something like this would not happen to me.

My friend and I made our way through a wooded area, which is divided by a road with a dead end. We walked along it halfway without speaking much, when in the distance we heard the noise from a raccoon. It was loud because it was early spring. There were no leaves on the trees, and last year's foliage lay below. It was dark, but our eyes were getting used to it. I walked in front and at first I heard the sound, as if someone heavy was jumping off a wooden diving board. I stopped trying to determine the source of the sound. About 10 yards ahead and 20 feet above, a branch swayed from the oak tree as if something very heavy had jumped off it. I checked my pockets for a jackknife, but this time I didn't have one. I very quickly turn to my friend to say the first thing that comes to mind is that it was probably a red lynx. He stared at me, turned,to explore the surroundings.

Then out of the corner of my eye, looking ahead, I see something diving from a tree. It's hard to believe, but there was a huge owl in front of us. My height is 6'1 "[1.85 m], and this owl was over 7 feet [over 2.1 m], with its ears sticking outward. She had dull yellow eyes the size of a baseball and with 3-4-inch black rings around them … almost the size of a volleyball. That's how big her head was. The chest looked like someone took a sheet of silver and shredded it into shavings. These were the strangest feathers I have ever seen. I was mesmerized by her appearance.

For the first time in my life my legs gave out … I was shocked! The owl was 8-10 feet [about 2.7 m] from me. The legs slowly revived and I began to back away, not taking my eyes off the owl. I stumbled upon a large tree and then quickly hid behind it. If I had a gun, I would shoot. She back-peddled [?] Like a hummingbird, but made a sound similar to the distant sound of helicopter blades. She began to go around the tree to get me, and I tried to avoid it. I remember not wanting to take my eyes off her in case she followed me. I was looking for some stick for protection. I have not seen how my friend reacts. I told him to look for a club for himself, but he continued to knock on my shoulder from behind, offering to look at something. I remember getting angry, thinking to myself that now there are more important things. Finally I turned to him and noticed about six or more little owls in the tree, each about 3 feet [90 cm] tall. That's all! We ran from there with hellish speed. We were lucky to make it out safe. "JF"
