Malta is not just a big island - it is a huge open-air museum. There are many significant archaeological, cultural and architectural monuments of history here. The island itself is located in the center of the Mediterranean Sea, so the constant change of power is a familiar phenomenon for it. This is what affected the archaeological sites - many have left their mark on Malta.

But on the southern coast of the island there are many kilometers of "trolley tracks", which are made in rocky ground, and at an equal distance from each other. It looks very strange - they are about half a meter deep, with gentle walls. These tracks are not uniform, for example, in some places they diverge and then converge, but they do not have any specific intersection point. And the most interesting thing about them is that they not only reach the sea coast, but also continue further - under water. The width of each track is about one hundred twenty-three centimeters, but the depth is measured by seventy centimeters. It is characteristic that the distance between the paired tracks is always the same - it is one hundred thirty-seven centimeters. By the way, it is impossible to create these grooves with primitive tools, so there is an assumption that some ancient mechanisms were involved in their creation.

The researchers found that these rails were created about four thousand years BC, but their purpose has not yet been identified. Although there are many versions. For example, there is an assumption that these ruts are nothing more than ancient footprints left by huge carts. They were set in motion by some powerful ancient animals. And there is a version that there is a relationship between these furrows and hundreds of balls of limestone - they were also found in Malta, they say, the balls were a support for a platform on which various loads were dragged. But these versions raise huge doubts.

But the scientific community believed that these grooves are associated with the construction of the most ancient temple complexes or testify to the landing of interplanetary flying ships on Earth.

There were several more versions, for example, that these tracks are a coded message from ancestors to their gods. Or is it proof of the reality of the existence of Atlantis, because it is to her, according to their theory, that the ruts running along the seabed lead. And there is also a version that says that these furrows were the most important part of the agricultural culture of the ancient islanders.

Despite so many versions, modern science has not provided an explanation for these furrows in Malta, because the ancient people for some reason suddenly died out, leaving behind numerous monuments of their culture: ancient temples, megaliths and, of course, amazing ruts on the surface of the island.
